Yeah, sorry about that, but it kind of made a little TOO much sense.

However, there are other ways ;)

In Stigmata the writing that appears on your arm under the skin is blood. Not "what appears to be blood". Is that what you meant?

Yes - it is on / under the skin and is 'blood' or other natural substances / processes. I can't say more without tipping - however, it isn't blood as in blood on the surface from a cut - that was all I meant by 'appears to be' - it's not actually on the surface to touch.

I don't agree with Ellusionist's promo style by not showing you the effect - only showing you the reacation. I think that's really crummy - but after understanding the effect, then if they did show the routine in full, or at least the writing appearing, then I think that many people (maybe magicians rather than lay people) would have guessed it. I presume this is why they don't show you. It's no excuse though. Selling a trick on hype and reactions is an awful way to deal with your customers. However, from reading a post by Wayne Houchin, it also works as they shipped 50 in the first 25 seconds and 200 in the first 5 min

guessed trick

Postby archimage » Apr 20th, '06, 23:08

I've tried Stigmata a on people for a couple days now and have gotten some mixed reactions. On one hand, some people were floored. On the other end of the spectrum, my 14 year-old son figured it out within seconds. (maybe because he has seen so many tricks?) And pretty much everything in between. I'm guessing it is partly due to my variances in performance and partly because the simplicity of how does something appears on your arm which looks like ....that.

ARRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

i was on the bus going to a park, and then BAM. it came to me how to do it. im almost about to shoot my self for spending that much.

but then again even though i may know the secret, it would be intresting how there would be differnet way to present it. it would also add on to my impromtu tricks that i can do. and also the shipping was really good i guess, 2 days, it was in the mailbox when i got home

and to mods. i think you might get rid of that donald duck line, that is sorta exposure in a way

?!~

Hmmm yeah. I Didn't work it out but then I didn't really try. I think this is probably the last thing I'll buy from ellusionist. It's in the same league as the revolution coin vanish I think. Actually it is worse. Even on the download it was hard to see what was supposed to be appearing on his arm. It is only when you try it yourself that you see it properly. It does look quite good and I will use it from time to time. I feel stupid for performing it (just like revolution coin vanish) but it does look quite good. It's definately one of the top revelations, and it's just a bit more interesting. This is exactly like the ash on arm effect but you don't need the thingy. It will have the same kind of effect, probably a better one actually. With this you can call the ashes on arm obsolete. (Although burning the billet is quite good as they don't know what is going on.)

The effect is good, but the way it was hyped up was quite out of order! I bet many magicans who brought this are now wishing they did'nt.

The effect can be found in a book called "Secrets of Magic" for about $5!

So I think its best to try and look past the hype. A case of buyer beware

If you spend the money on it, you'll be disapointed. Sure it's a cool effect, but I feel that almost anyone should know the method behind it.

Hi!
I have some questions regarding this new trick from E: 1) can a name or a word appear on the arm or is the trick limited only to playing cards? 2)if a word or name can appear does it need to be written to a peace of paper or something or can the spectator only think of that word not saying or writing anything and after he squessez (sorry for my eanglish) my arm the word will appear? 3) (this question is for those who purchased the trick and preformed it) is this trick REALLY WORTH THE MONEY?? does it give some good reaactions from people or are they only like "yeah...whatever... cool.... :| "? If you think that this trick is pretty dull, not worth the moeny and I shouldn't buy it thank what cool effect would you recomend me, becose I'm going to a friend of mine's birthday on Saturday, and there is a very cool girl there that I would like to impress... 8) plus the guys that are coming are pretty interested in this stuff (magic, slight of hand, mobility.....)

Thank you! (I'll be watching the forums becose i defently want a respons till Saturday.. :D cheers!)

Most of you questions were answered in my review (the very first post of that thread) but I'll clear them up for you:
1: I't can be a card, a name (but try to stick to the initial or short words ;)!) or anything else (letters and numbers, maybe basics shapes)
2: I don't know how to answer this without exposure... sorry!
3: At my very humble opinion, this trick gave me everything I was looking for when I watched the preview. The reaction are great, but you can make them even better with your acting (Acting is a BIG part in it), so yes, it is worth every penny. I read it could be found on various magic books, but it didn't bothers me having spent about 30$ for it. The effect is really great and Wayne Houchin's explanation and tips are really helpful...

Hope I cleared that!

I don't have this video. But I'm pretty sure I know how it works. You are probably better going out and buying the Banachek video. I beleive it was volume 2. It has Stigmata on it. And a few other top notch mental effects.
