50 ways to rock a lighter

Postby Beardy » May 13th, '06, 12:03

I'm just wondering what those of you who have this think.

Cheers people in advance!

it good but bad

it teaches you the basics like snoop but these can be seen at

lightertricks.com

but they are done slowly making it easy for you to learn

but

they don't explain to you how to do the trick as they preform and teach it silently.

overalll 7/10

p.s it you want to learn good and fre lighter tricks visit the website

I visited the site but I couldn't learn from the videos there. They are so fast just showing the tricks. Not suitable for a beginner.

as a begginer do the following:

1)--- learn the begginer skills... these are explaned to you

2)--- learn begginer tricks... not explained to you

3)--- watch others doing tricks and by now you should be able to pick them up easily.

I've learned the beginner skills, which explained there. But they aren't that complicated. Then moved to "easy" ones and can't do them. They are really doing them fast like showing off, not for teaching. The videos has more site advertisement at the beginning&end than the trick itself, it's frustrating to watch those again&again.

Just bought a zippo today and have been flicking around with it. Great fu nactually, just a bit weird if somebody saw a 13 year old playing with a lighter.

I was playing with mine at work today whilst having a fag, doing some of the tricks taught over at lightertricks.com

People just watched me and then said "Do that again!"

Ecko, which ones did you do? I have a challenge for you, as you are trying to quit smoking. Each time you light a cigarette you must do a differnt trick. If you can't do it properly then you can't have a fag :D

Can't remember the names of many of them, but one of them was called "Easy Goofy", one of them was called "Revolver" and one of them was called "Six Shooter" which to the best of my knowledge isn't on lightertricks.com but was taught to me by someone at college who saw I was flicking my lighter about in somewhat flashy ways.

Baically it entails spinning, opening, striking, swinging then holding up on your palm in one motion. Then flick it in the air, it does a 360 and lands back on your palm, then you hold it like a gun and restrike on the way down (gets a nice spark) and then close on the way up. As if you're firing an old style six shooter.

the guy who taught it to me can do the whole thing in 5 seconds. Owing to lack of practice, it took me about 45 secs to do... but still looked impressive :D

Yeah... practice with an unlit lighter first 8)

Seriously though, if you try this (with an unlit lighter...):

Hold the lighter with the lid fallen towards your body (1) slightly diagonally. You should have a diagonal "lifeline" or somesuch on your palm, try holding it about there.

Don't try and throw the lighter, flick your wrist up and let momentum do the rest.

Don't worry about dropping it, as it's unlit.
Practice for 15-20 minutes until you can get a perfect or near perfect catch every time if you have to catch it slightly sideways (2) then don't worry. It still looks impressive.

Onceyou're comfortable with the move, light it, and try again
