Name: Card Toon
Price: 15$, thetrickery.com
Dificulty: 1/5
Examanible: No
Reset Time: 10 sec in privite

Effect: The magician states that he has an assistant, a stick figure drawn on the back of the cards in a deck, and the assistant can only perform one trick, but it’s a good one. The spectator selects a card, and the card is removed from the deck. Then the magician flips through the deck, animating the stick figure. The animation shows the stick figure reaching in his top hat, and removing the spectator’s card.

Review: An amazing trick, Card Toon is a very good deal, but you probably don't want to perform it for good magicians. Although the trick isn't examinable, the spectator will probably think there is no need to examine it.

9/10

i cant get to grips with the sleight of this trick where you have to take the right hand part of the pack to the bottom right hand corner and flip the cards round and onto the bottom, my hands can't hyandle it!

Do you have any tips?

It takes some practise to get it off slick so just keep at it - I just use an old cheapo deck to practice. It's worth it for the effect and the looks on the spec's faces when the chosen card is revealed!

Check out the handling on www.penguinmagic.com in the movies section.

The handling is quite easy to get down with practice, and as Sankey says, even with small hands, it's just finding your technique.

Everyones hands have restrictions and limitations of movement, but just keep at it. Patience!

As Mandrake says, the final effect is a killer, as it seems almost impossible. Well worth mastering.

Having bought both Cardtoon and Cardtoon 2 I find them extremely well received items - as it says on the tin, probably the most enchanting card trick(s) ever!

I see there's a third version where the little man eats a chilli, nature takes it's course, and the selected card is revealed in a bubble of 'bio-gas'. It's called Fart toon - honest!!! I doubt this version can be described as charming!

When I finally decided to buy Card Toon, Card Toon 2 had just come out, so I bought that instead. For anyone out there who knows both tricks - is there any reason for me to buy the original?

The set up and working of Card Toon 2 is identical to Card Toon - the only difference are the drawings and some additional end of routine workings.

There's no reason to buy both but I like to interchange them, especially if some of the specs have seen the original version, and can switch to 2 by saying that the little man has gone up in the world and is now with the Circus. Cheesy but I'm comfortable with it!

By the way, in the penguin.com video presentation they call the little man Bob (pronounced Bahhhhhb, of course!) I call mine Eric - whaddya call yours?

Cheers,

My little stick figure is The Great Cardtooni

It's corny, I know!

I also have the F**toon deck. It's always on standby, just in case I detect the requirement for toilet humour in the audience.

It's a great trick to do if you perform something that 'dies' (i.e. did not quite get the reaction, or goes wrong).

The introduction of 'my little stick magician' is almost like having a comedy assistant, and it can be milked quite well.

I have to agree.
This is a very charming effect.
You can also use it as a prediction for AH or 2S.
