Looks good, before I buy it, can I just ask if I need to reset it every time like the Raven?

Is there a UK supplier?

There might be a UK supplier somewhere. I find it best to buy it off the actual site though, and don't try eBay because they're all the old versions.
Reset takes like 1-2 seconds. [if that]

You can buy the second edition of the trick here:

http://www.magicshop.co.uk/subterfuge-s ... -1407.html

I'm presuming that it is the newest version. MagicShop.co.uk are a great shop too, so you shouldn't have any problems purchasing from them. I will probably end up getting it pretty soon as well. It's been on my "to buy" list for a while now, and reading this review again made me remember why ;)

Thanks! I ordered from Magic tricks.co.uk before.

I gotta get this trick. 10/10 ? Sounds too good to miss!

Probably order some other stuff too..what do you think of the 3-ring circus by Jay Sankey?

havn't got three ring circus so i can't really say.

Now when this arrives, you'll probably have mixed reactions but it really is all down to practise. it is INVISIBLE when performed, nobodu has an absolute clue what has happened. You start clean and end clean, thats whats good.

I think I just figured out a way of doing the coin vanishes. I just have a question though - do the vanished items have to be metallic?
I will probably be buying this sometime next month, it really does look great.
Thanks again :)

Yoshi -
Pros:
It is much quicker and easier to reset than a Raven and is more versatile in some ways.
The ring is totally examinable, meaning that after practice, even if people suspect something dodgy of the ring, you are way ahead. If someone catches wind of your Raven and wants to investigate, you're screwed.

Cons:
There are dress implications, but they are not likely to be hard to meet for most magicians. I guess one issue is that if you're like me you don't wear a ring anyway, so performing for friends who know this can be tricky!
Also - and this is not so much a con as a point to bear in mind - mechanically, this works in quite a different way to the Raven. Whereas the Raven is, after practice, an instant and safe vanish, there is more to be mindful of in terms of misdirection. I don't think I'm giving anything away when I say that there is a "ditch" of some kind, whereas there isn't really the same issue for the Raven. This will take practice - probably more practice than your Raven, but I think it will pay off.

Overall, I have barely used the SMS but this is due to other constraints I've had on my practicing/going out time. I'm still pleased I bought it and think that after a bit more practice it will be an excellent gizmoid to use, especially in my preferred setting - dark, noisy bars!

Finally, Sankey's 3 Ring Circus is probably my favourite single Sankey routine. You will find yourself carrying it around all the time! Do yourself a favour and buy it now. (And don't worry about all the talk of dis-coloured rings - you can make your own).

I agree with you Farlsborough and think that i too could use my SMS more but havn't really had the time to show anybody. This might all change this week though as i'll give it a go at some of my friends.
I don't see a problem with the dress implications at all! Nothing special is needed, and all that rubbish people say about 'SMS is a black art and only for pitch black places' is a bunch of old poo.
There are piles of differnt effects the SMS can be used for, and yes it can be performed in the middle of the streetin broad daylight or as someone said on the subetrfuge forum [which is slowly dieing out] it can even be done with a spotlight on you.

Hmmm... perhaps! But good luck doing it in a white leotard, in broad daylight, in Iceland. I think it's fair to say that - until you get really, super good - you will want to make things easier for yourself by following their "tips" in terms of what you wear. I'm not saying you have to go out and buy a special outfit to perform it, just that dress does to some extent make a difference.

Still, like I said, unless you're stuck in the neon 80's, the suggestions should be mucho easio to follow.

You buy me a white leotard, make broard daylight happen in Iceand and send me there and i'd be more than happy to show you that it is VERY possible and is no hard work at all!
I could Pm you if you wanted but if you watch the DVD and maybe have a look around ye olde forum you'll see there are loads of ways to perfrom with the SMS and loads of ways to end clean.

We don't want it tooooo easy to do otherwise every bu**er will be performing this trick (e.g.non-magicians and laymen).

If I find it's not for me, I'll stick it in the for-sale section or ebay.

just a few points without geting to hung up on exposure here.

the sms system is designed in such a way that ditching the coin is undetectable though from your point of view you will at first feel you have an enormose pimple on your face that no one else can see.
the gimick can be talored to any style of clothing and you could do it naked if you into surgical implants.

it can be a knecktie coin gimick, you can turn your trouser pocket inside out and ditch right infront of there face, leaving your pocket turned out.
you can even do the classic steven sigal move and vanish the coin then place your hands on your gut budism style, in short the ditching of the coin / ring / lucky charm etc can be talored to suit you like no other gimick presently on the market today.
and lets not forget you can use it to produce coin's as well as switch them so its not a single use gimick.

yes you need to put some work in and do some taloring to make it your own but if you recal how awkward you felt with your first tt then you'll understand that this is one of thoughs gimicks you need to learn to forget about. :D

ps the only reason i sold mine was because i physical could not use it due to my kack handed dropsyness neuro condition and talking all things sankey get yourself sankeys mercury ring then aply that to your sms to give you a perfect reason to have the ring on in the first place.

Is there a cheaper place to find the SMS or is $45 USD the cheapest you can find it for.
