Nice review - a couple of questions.

Can it be used for switching coins?
Is there much talking?

and lets not forget you can use it to produce coin's as well as switch them so its not a single use gimick.
erm yes....

well ok you can cetainly use it to aquire a coin or even paper money but you will reguire some rudimentry sleights as well.
you could also use it to do a billet switch with a bit of thought, demonstrate you only have one billet, turn around and reveal what they have written or write it down on a board.
but then you could do this with basic sleights too.

Yeah, you can do piles with it! I'm thinking ob buying a black widow and will try and use the two together actually. Like show both hands empty. Place an object under one hand, make it vanish and show that hand empty, then make it appear under the other hand! :D

Hmmm just wondering, can this do everything the M5 from Ellusionist can? For example, the watch stop.
Edit: Also what "accessories" should you order with the SMS. I've never owned a PK system like the M5, or Raven, or any of this. Do you need steel quarters and things of teh such?

Yeah, you would if you are going to order. Of course, now I have bought a black widow I'd say that that is so much better, cleaner, more visual and can be used for much more. So if you have the money......

 Delude, with all due respect, how the monkeys does a 14 year old spend that sort of money on one piece of gear?!

So Delude , are you now saying that if you had bought the Black Widow first then you wouldn't have bothered with SMS?

Well the black widow wasn't out then, but yeah. I would have. I had to get my dad to help a lil bit so I'm paying him back with the money I get from my paper round each week.

Subterfuge is amazing, you just need a little bit of misdirection but just because I have a BW now doesn't mean I'm not going to use my SMS. The black widow is smoother, more visual and does a lot more. The SMS is spectacular if you want to do certain things, mainly coin work but the BW is for that and everyhting else.

Ah, good old paper round - good to see you're putting in the footwork - shows commitment!

I know that this is an old thread but I just wanted to let everyone know that Subterfuge has been re-released.The website says April 15, 2012 but some magic sites are already carrying it. The new website is preceptmagic.com. It has a more designer ring that is way better than the first one and the tools are better too. It comes with the coins now as well so you can do it right out of the box and while watching the DVD.

The main effect I would like to do with this, is to vanish the coin from a spectator's hand. How easy is this to do?

easier than using a raven, both hands can be imediatly shown empty and unlike the raven or toppit you are not limited with placement.
