I thought this had been on the market for a while under different names.
After it came through, I realised I had been shown this by my Uncle about 3 years ago. I also remembered noticing something rather odd ....2nd on the left ;) . For this reason I hadn't shown this to anyone until 2 days ago at work. If I noticed without knowing it was there, how could I get away with it with full knowledge. Thinking I was going to get caught out straight away, I showed 2 different people and to my very pleasant surprise, they were completely dumfounded. Ahh haaa, said one, I think you did it with 21 cards......no, says I, only 20. Not a lie either lol. I think its about keeping it flowing with this one, not giving too much time for scrutiny as I think I was 3 years back.

Anyone who performs this regularly, I could do with pming as I have developed a new(?)ish method for the beginning counts which I could use an opinion on. It's for the in-the-hands method and I think it makes things look in some ways cleaner. Definately easier.

Any takers? If this is as good a way as I think, you may end up displaying this way too.

what ivebeen doing with strange travelers is nt wrrying to much about counting the cards, well at the start i count down 20, and when displaying the gimmicked packet i show the ten diffrent cards to choose from, but i dont go over board counting each time and everythome, i think in a way it takes away from the perfomance and i think it gives the audience more to think about than they need, as long as they can see that there were 20 cards, and then 10 cards, and then all of a sudden the card they were thinking of gone... and transfred to there pack, that is prety much enough of a hard hitting effect, the reactions ive had from this trick are increadible, i had my dad shout out "NO (BEEP) WAY!!"

I dont count them out loud off the pack, but they see me count them off openly.
When they need to be shown just how many cards they are being handed just before, I figured out a clean looking way of doing it that seems a lot easier than the published in the hand count, that's all.
If any of the pros here wouldn't mind letting me know if it's a good idea or not, I'd appreciate it.
Ta
:D

As a side note, I honestly thought I'd get caught out with doing this on the prowl for the first time at a wedding today.....little did I know I would get 3 "how the hell?"'s and at least 1 "holy f***" thrown in for good measure. Well worth the cash and practise.

I got this yesterday and must say the quality of the package is very good.

As for the effect my wife said "spooky" and shook her head which is about as good as it gets with her!

The recommended handlings are not up my street and I know there is plenty of scope to make up my own.

Its good that you can do this with any pack of poker size cards with standard faces, as some other tricks have to be left out of my routine if the colour does not fit with whatever else I am doing.

There are plenty of suggestions in the instructions how to use the cards, but at the moment I am thinking I will stick to using just 20 cards and the wallet, and use the wallet for the travleling part.

I am not a great fan of gimmicks with cards, but I think this one may stay the distance!

For the price its worth a dabble if your on the fence.

Quick question really. I recieved this in the post yesterday thanks to the great NUMS and have already performed it for someone. My one wonder is, does it work for a group of people. I dont want to give the game away but I'm wondering if more than one person in a group think of a card will it arouse suspicion? Obviously you ask only one person to but I would think other spectators would to just through curiousity.
Unless of course you somehow engineer it so only one person thinks of a card?

Or am I talking cack? very probably yes

Actuall my wife is a "God of hacklers" so she memorized 2 cards and when the "card" vanished she said "I memorized 2 cards now they're both gone! How can that be!!!"....too bad she didn't end up with 12 cards in her hands...

So basicly if any other spec memorizes different card that card will ofcourse also vanish due to the nature of the effect but that's about it...you can improv from that point very nicely if the other spec says something...something like "well they both vanished but only one is materialized....you have to hold the packet in your hands or something like that...cards have to feel your magic...blah blah....

You have to be very careful because obviously both cards will end up in specs packet but then effect would be very weak if other person sees that because 10+2 is 12 not 11 ....

I think I may just keep this effect for a lone spectator rather than a group due to the high chance of more than one spectator thinking of a card. Hmm it's a tricky one cause it's a very strong effect and maybe you'd be able to get away with it?

Have you had any issues doing it for a group point? Has anyone else for that matter. Maybe a lay person wouldn't think that way? I dunno

There's a HUGE thread on the MagicCafe (spit) about this effect, and how it can't be performed to more than one spec at a time.

My own comments are there, basically saying that if you perform for a living and you've not mastered spectator control, then you shouldn't be doing effects like this anyway ;)

Haven't bought the trick, but of what I read in this review, there is an identical trick that can be done impromptu (well 99% impromptu, you still need about 15 sec of prep with a regular deck). It actually is so damn easy I think I already seen it done on about 5-6 deferent magicians websites.

I think most of you know what I'm talking about ("hay didn't that jack of spades was the jack of clubs?"), and if it does work the same way, or at least the effect is the same, it's a waste of money and gimmick to go around with in your pocket.

I do believe that before making comments such as these, you actually buy the effect.

The effect you receive simply cannot be performed with regular cards in the form it appears. Impossible.

I do wish people would think before they write...

Anyone who gets comments like this should look at their own execution and performance of the effect rather than blame the trick itself. Performed well this simply won't happen. A good workman never blames his tools...etc...etc.
