4-6ft is a bit of hype, I think.
I can certainly influence cutlery from 2-3ft away though.
The main difference between the M5 and the *new* monster config is that the new monster comes with FOUR 'thingies' which can be used separately, or together. Much more flexibility. And more powerful than an M5*
*We have 2 M5s bought at different times (which are identical) for testing purposes, and in tests the Bertha beats them hands down for distance of effect.
