New Trick - Birthday Card

Postby EckoZero » Jun 8th, '06, 01:46

It's not really a new trick, but it's been personalised for my mum, as it's her birthday soon and I'm too cheap to buy her expensive things... so I thought I'd make her a card trick.

Lemme know what you all think!

PS: The 4 cards outjogged in the opening spread would be touched by the spectator - in this case my mum

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

levitating screwdriver.

flash changing ties for thoughs times when your tie matches your bosses in the office.

or one of thoughs turn over signs.... i,m busy.... do not disturb.... coffee 2 sugars please.

how about showing your dad each ace one at a time turning it face down on the pack and tabling it then taking the next card for yourself.
at the end you have all the aces he has cards that say i love you dad, corny with cards.

beautifully done. I'm robbing that for whoevers birthday is up next

i usually use a variation on a trick i always do. everyone has seen me do a trick where they pick a card and it turns out to be the only red one in a blue deck, just instead of it being red, you have them pick the only card that says "happy birthday [insert name here]" on it.
yeah, or just flash produce their suitably small present

That's great! Besides, it's the thought that counts, rather than the money you spend.

Suggestion for a subtle enhancement. How about getting someone to take a good photo of the final reveal before you perform the routine and then present the photo, suitably autographed as you see fit, as a memento of what you did? You could put the photo into the birthday card, or even in a blank card, as something else for her to open.

Mandrake... that's a great idea :D

So when my dad wakes up I'm gonna get him to take a picture of the final reveal :D
Ah, good old Mandrake comes to the rescue... for the 4th or 5th time :D
