It will only stop for the period of time you have the **** "within range". It is advised that you hold it as far away as possoble to have the effect, and that you don't hold it there for a long time or do it repeatedly on your own watch.

Also I don't think you can do it on wind up watches.

The effect works with any watch with a mechanical mechanism... it won't work with digital watches.

Also, take note: the time and distance taken to stop the watch should be practiced, and do not make 'sweeping' motions with the ring or any other similar device.

Sweeping motions could cause the internal parts to fail, wheras simply bringing the ring into proximity will freeze them temporarily.

If the watch doesnt start straight away, giving it a bit of a tap can start it up again...

Has anyone else had an allergic reaction to these rings??! I wore one at a wedding reception I was working. I wore it for 3 hours, only used it for one trick, and the blooming thing itched like buggery all day long.

So when I got in my car to go home, I took the ring off. By the time I went to bed, my finger was very red and itchy, and by the morning I'd had a full-blown allergic reaction!

It's taken 3 weeks, antihistomine (sp?) tablets AND cream to get my finger back to normal.

All this to stop one blooming watch.

No more PK ring related fun for me I'm afraid.

In one of the other threads the suggested cause was the coating put on the rings and one 'cure' was to paint over the inside of the ring with clear nail polish - hope it helps.

I also read somewhere (i am sorry i cant remember the post) that one of the 2 colors is more prone to causing an allergic reaction than the other. once again i am sorry i cant recall which. i have gold one and it is fine. however i am confident that if your ring is a problem, and you bought it from the World Magic Shop, they would help you out, maybe even swap for the other color. they helped me out for a mistake i made (ordered the wrong size) so their service is A-Class. hope that helps. good luck.

I wear my gold version all the time (I only take it off to wash my hands or go to bed). When it was a very hot day & my fingers became sweaty my finger turned green under the ring.

I followed the advice on this forum & painted the inside of the ring with clear nail varnish and haven't had a problem since :D
