Hospital magic

Postby dksokol » Jun 9th, '06, 10:35

Dear magicians,

In case anyone is interested in hospital magic and medicine, you may want to read an article I wrote about these subjects in the latest issue of the British Medical Journal. To read it online, simply go to http://www.medicalethicist.net/publications.htm and click on 'A magical education'.

If anyone performs in a hospital or is interested in doing so, don't hesitate to get in touch. I'd love to hear about your experiences and share some of mine.

Regards,

Daniel

Very interesting piece mate!

As a matter of fact I enquired about volunteering as a magician a week ago at my local hospital.
I'll let you know how it goes!

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

If anyone is interested in hospital work there's a charity called POD that does magic, clowning, balloon modeling etc. in hospitals for children (for children not in childrens hospitals). They sound great 17+ can volunteer I believe.

EDIT: excellent article!

Cheers,
