Cesaral Melting Point

Postby PickAnyCard » Jun 11th, '06, 07:10

This is a review for Cesaral Melting Point

You won't believe it, even when you do it for yourself in the mirror this effect will literally shock you.

EFFECT:
The magician uses any plate glass surface. He takes a coin, puts it in the middle of the table top, and in a few seconds it is done. The coin goes through glass.

A bonus is included called “Ghost Coin.” It can be found in the accompanying video. Stand a coin up on the table... hold your hand above the coin so you can see the shadow of your fingers... you can move the coin and spin it using just your own shadow.

COST:
$53.50

DIFFICULTY:
1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only

3=Some sleights used

TRICK INFO:
- It could be done initially on an opaque surface, and finally the second time on a plate glass or transparent plastic surface so that everybody can “see” how it works
- Almost any surface can be used
- Extremely clean
- Easy method
- Can be done with many other coins and objects like a piece of candy or a chicklet
- No special ring required
- The technique can be used to perform many other magic miracles
- Works for impromptu, close up, and even stage with bigger objects

OVERALL:
This is a really good trick. Very visual. I really recommend to use a plate glass. This gets wonderful reactions.

9/10

Nice review there and I'v fancied this effect for a while. The prices are dropping as well if you shop around which is always handy.

It should be noted that the first edition of this trick came with a video CD rather than a DVD so make sure that you know which one you are getting if you decide to buy.

It appears to be a very nice effect.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Is this the same effect that criss angel used in a episode of mindfreak? he put a ring on a glass surface and then put his hand over it and it fell through the glass. Sounds like a cool effect to have. This is definately going on my list of things to get

thanks for the review. i does look like a stunning effect, been around a while and i hv "almost" bought it a couple of times. you say that a special ring is not necessary, but a "ring" is required right? do you get all the gimmicks you need with the DVD or will you need to buy some things? i am not "fishing" but i do want to determine the value i am getting. i have read elsewhere a special ring is NOT required however i believe that is just because the gimmick you get with the DVD can be adapted to suit. is that the case or will i need to go buy some additional things to be able to perform this effect.
many thanks.

Am i missing something here? In have this effect on dvd but do not recall seeing anything with a ring on it. Will have to check itn out again at some point. I haven't managed to practise the effect as haven't got a glass table or other suitable tables. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

you need to wear a normal ( i.e not pk) ring to perform this trick, it is the only thing NOT included with the trick - i only have pk rings and so i cannot perform this trick until i get a normal one.
i am not trying to disclose any methods but it is an important point that is not mentioned in the ad blurb.

You can 'melt' many small objects with this effect, but some will require gimmicking.

i think this is a really nice effect and dont think anyone will be disappointed with the method (as long as you remember it is an effect!).

the set up is quick and easy and the dvd is well produced i would give it 8/10,
but if i owned a ring - 10/10

Hello all,

if you watch the video demo carefully you will work out how its done...it took me about 20 minutes of repeated watching to work out the basic premis and moves. That said, its still an impressive piece of illusion and if you can find a pub with glass tables it will be a reputation maker!!
I'm going to make my own version as I think the price is a bit much for what you actually need to perform the effect! (Text deleted by Mods)Altogether, this is a nice piece of magic and if you cant work it out yourself then I suggest you buy it!

I do hope I'm not infringing copyright here by suggesting people watch the demo video!! (Message from Mods: Probably and you're certainly not keeping to the rules and regs of TM. Here we don't guess and publish methods of doing effects even on the basis that you think it's too expensive. Remember that some people rely on these sales for their livelihood and may have spent many hours developing the effect. All magic is worth buying, none should be copied)

Hmmmmm...

No arguments there though.

Ah. Most mega-apologies for stepping out of line there...it wasn't my intention to be over-informative and rest assured it wont re-occur, put it down to my newbie status!!

As to all magic is worth buying...the reply comments all speak for themselves!!

As to whether magic should be copied, weeeellll...yes and no. If magicians stopped trying to develop new ways to do similar effects I think the art would suffer badly, how many ways do you know to vanish something, for instance? ..or slice an assisstant into pieces..or do a torn and restored? All original methods at one time, now improved or adapted to create better versions of the original.

Whilst I'm not into blatant rip-offs I DO see a need for continuous improvement and refinement of methods not only to baffle the audience but also to make other magicians think.."...how the heck did he/she do that????!!!" This can only be a good thing for magic in general.

Even given my comments....I'm still gonna buy it!! As you said, someone may have spent hours on the developement of this effect and it would only be right to reward those efforts and for giving me the chance to come up with a version that suits my style better, based on the original.

Once again, my apologies to the forum.

Marvo.

I have purchased this product and while being very impressed with the illusion, the DVD leaves a lot to be desired. There isn't a step by step menu so you have to continually pause and rewind while you learn/practice.

An opaque surface can be used to practice but definately not for performance! Unless it's done on glass it looks like you just did the "old drop it in your lap" trick.

Even though I am slightly frustrated with the teaching DVD, I still highly recommend the product.

For those of you without a ring, you could always have a gimmick surgically implanted into your hand/finger! - Or get a cheap ring!

Does anyone have both this and Descent? If so how does it compare? I've got Descent and it's pretty good (although I didn't realise 'til after I'd got it that I never seem to go anywhere near a glass table!) but I'd consider getting this too if it's worth the price tag, which as 3-4 times as much as Descent.

The artist who does not rise, descends.

Yes, you can perform in short sleeves while your standing. You can even perform it while you are virtually surrounded. Some angle sensitivity but this can be managed quiet easily.
