tomdbest147, you think Cyril is less experienced because most of his work was done in Japan, so he is less known for his early work in the rest of the world..

But talking about experience, where the hell Blaine fits into the picture? The only reason he got his specials was because he was a grade B magician that was willing to do dumb publicity stunts.
Now that didn't occur to me that much until I saw his last TV special, a 2 hour "magic" special, that only about 20 minutes of it was really consisted out of real magic performance and not "let's look at the man in the giant fish bowl again.."

i would like to disagree with the 'less experience' part, tomdbest147. cyril started magic as a very young child and his mentors were reputable magicians.

from www.cyrilmagic.com/us:

"at age 6 when a family friend took him to Las Vegas to see a magic show. He was immediately hooked and began to practice magic everyday, often to the dismay of his parents and teachers. As a young teenager Cyril was accepted into the youth program at California's famous Magic Castle where, surrounded by his magic mentors, he began to gain skills that would help him to become a professional performer."

when u first started learning magic, you would perform magic almost immediately on your classamtes or friends or maybe even teachers. Let's say he started magic at 10 and he is now 23, he would have easily gained 13 years of experience eprforming magic. the way he presents his magic is so good that i can watch it 10 times and not feel bored at all. his magic is one that can fool fellow magicians as well as laymen. look at his routines you can see that he has a very good sleight of hand. performing in front of tv is the same as performing in front of a crowd, and it is the same as performing for his classmates and his friends.i would not say he does not have good experience. i would say david blaine is worse than him. david blaine is just so boring. when the tv channel broadcasted his show a second time, i thought i knew how he did most of his tricks and decided to change the channel. but cyril would not be the most experienced magician, of course. amongst the 3, i would place cyril first, followed by criss angel then david blaine. but all 3 of them are good performers, maybe im just not into the gothic type of presentation and i just dont find david blaine interesting

First time I saw this dude was on YouTube. He was doing his famous coin through the table and then moved onto the salt and pepper through the table.

I then kept searching and found a video on him where he messes up, although he does pull it off at the end. Pretty sweet videos

David Blaine, Criss Angel and Cyril are all talented magician. David is good with cards, Criss is good with illusion tricks. I do enjoy Cyril's perfomence the most because his persona and his presentation. For example the cigarette trick. I have seen few people perform the same trick including Criss Angel. While both Cyril and Criss have excellent slight of hand but Cyril's presentation is smoother and more stylish.
Examples:
Cyril http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0G9yENOSOQ
Criss Angel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0keGHHtum8
unknown magician: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1uQelmhDak

Someone mentions Cyril's tricks are not creative but I have seen many creative tricks done by Cyril. Hamburger trick, shadow trick and water regeneration, just to name a few of them. I also like how Cyril take some of the old tricks and modify them and make them more interesting to watch again. Most of the magicians just perform other people's tricks as is. Cyril would take it to the next level. The best examples are his CTW in Aquarium/Submarine and Torn and Retored Fish tricks.
Examples:
CTW in Aquarium http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU7bQTRHNrM
CTW in Submarine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNcAqDADb-g
Torn and Restored Fish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leCfh_r5aeI

Another thing I like to mention is that the complexity of his magic tricks. The fact that he can perform several tricks at times just amazed me.
Examples:
CTW in Aquarium trick= CTW + Arm Thru Window
Torn and Restored Fish= Torn and Restored Fish + Fish Revival
Bird and Fruit= Bird and Fruit + Green Apple Red Apple Change(in the end)

yes i agree totally cyril has the ability to perform many great and stunning illusions at once. he combines many tricks together and links them in such a way that it doubles the effect of the single tricks. at first it is a nice trick, then it slowly becomes more amazing and more impossible. that is called a talented magician, someone who can really entertain a crowd, know the true meaning behind magic, and make use of his brains totally to improve the reactions he will get. his presentation is stylish and he likes to have the audience participate in his tricks(not to mention mostly are females  ). cyril is a great magician, but so are the others. but what makes cyril so special is his way of presentation of his tricks.he provides other magicians with inspiration they had never experienced before.

Why does Criss stick the cigarette up his nose before putting it out?

Since we're on the subject of comparing famous TV magicians why not throw a few more into the pot.

Alain Nu is a very talented mentalist who has had four specials already. He's quite intertaining to watch. The link below should take you to a list of his trick on YouTube. If it fails just type in his name in YouTube's search.

Another Magician that is starting to hit the lime light is Todd Diamond who is currently filming a televsion SERIES in India. Below is a promo video. He apparently does most of his tricks with another magician who is very gothic looking (the one with the black coat and makeup).

So this makes five magic Selebrities. Not bad.

Check out this new clip from Cyril. I really like the presentation. It is unconventional and creative. I also like how he get the audience involved in his trick.

He is doing a magic special in Korea. Most of them are old tricks from him. Search "cyril magic special" at youtube you'll find the videos.

I'm baffled that people are praising Blaine alot on this board, who is, very limited magician and isnt very good with sleight of hand. Cyril & Criss beat him hands now. Not to mention Jimmy Close or other chaps.

Blaine was just first "pretty" boy who got lucky with his street-magic.

Btw, did you know that Blaine recorded like 60 hours of footage for his first tv-special? Alot of tricks can miss with that.

If you check the older threads regarding David Blaine you'll see he came in for a lot of stick here on TM - mostly justified as well. As we moved on from that it was felt better to stop slating the guy so much hence there may be more of the approving ones in recent times.
