My insperation

Cyril was one magicain that really inspired me to perform magic. I think He really does some good tricks. Although as mentioned above he does mostly count on his props not slight of hand. But his trick that still has kept me thinking is the one where the coin goes into the glass table and is stuck in the glass

I'm a fan of cyril... why? because i first saw a performance on MBC (korean tv channel) and being half korean and speaking english it was funny. Then his Japanese speaking I liked because for words that would be written in katakana he would say them in english instead of pronouncing them like a japanese native would do.

I guess maybe I just have a big liking for him because most of his showings are in japan and he speaks japanese and a lot of people don't know japanese, and i've studied it for a few years now so it just makes it interesting to hear what they are talking about...

Everyone knows who I'm talking about right? If not, you may want to click here.

Cyril is superb and easily my favourite magician. Criss Angel doesnt even appear "magical" to me anymore, the latest season of Mindfreak is pretty poor. The illusions dont even look realistic. Blaine does stupid stunts and the odd magic trick or 2 in between. I've seen 3 Cyril dvds and one of his tv specials (and hundreds of clips on youtube) and i've only seen him do one stupid stunt.

Anyway, enough of my ranting.. how many Cyril fans are on this board? :D

I love his stuff and i agree he is my favorite.

As a matter of fact if you are in Japan "as I am" hes having several shows here.

Im going to one in Yonago city Tottori prefecture on March 28th.

Anyone else?

I've shown friends and family both CA and Cyril and they all prefered Cyril because his magic actually looks realistic whereas they thought CA's was over the top and unrealistic. They just didnt like the fact that Cyrils magic was all in Japanese :P

Maybe thats why I like him since I understand a lot of what he says in japanese.

Soroimasu is my favorite trick he does, yes its a easy trick and I have masterd it with plastic cards but darn paper cards give me heck.

heavily "prop" based magic? no doubt.

but "average"??? cant see that. entertaining? sure... but "average"?

i like this one, i am sure many of you have seen it before, however it's well staged and executed.

Cyril is the flipping man. Hands down. The guy is down to earth and really has some insight into alot of things that are sometimes beyond magic. Talking to him in Japanese is a trip.

Haven't seen this entire thread, but since I speak, read and write Japanese this following clip is very funny to me. But I am sure you can understand it without knowing the language. And like I started to say, I haven't read this entire thread so I don't know if you have put it up there.

Magic Zero

Oh, I will explain this:

In the japanese written language you have a form called Katagana. The way you write Cyril in Japanese is Sero. So that is his name in Japan, Sero. Well, with a little, very small, change in the character Sero becomes Zero.

Which is why they call this guy Magician Zero. It isn't pronounced like the number 0.

There seems to be a number of different views on him but from all the footage I've watched I think hes brilliant. Some of his effects are so hard hitting.

He's good, but I'm getting sick of seeing him covering things with his hands while some guy behind pushes/pulls objects through.

And the letter "L" doesn't exist in Japanese! :)

There's been numerous discussions earlier this year about Cyril, and they fizzle out quite dramatically.

And watching his 'audiences' are like watching an L&L video.

Sorry, but I certainly am NOT a fan.

I much prefer the artistry or skills of Blaine or Angel any day of the week.

???

The guy is a FISM winner! He's very skilled. He does some beautiful prop and sleight work.

My eyebrows raised a bit to "Seige's" comment too.. Blaine more skilled than Cyril?

Check out Angel's and Cyril's cigarette routines on youtube and decide yourself. I'm not sure if Blain could do either...
