this is one of the greatest magic tools ever
switch a roo can be used with cards coins bank notes credit cards anything heres one of the things you can do with it

four cards are seclcted from the deck lets say the four tens they can be any cards and can even be selected by the spectator you place them into your shirt pocket and leave them in full view and say "you know four cards in the deck have to be with me all the time"you take the cards out in full view there is no slights and show that the four cards have changed to the four aces you can clearly show that there is no other cards in your pocket your spectator will be floored by this and the great thing is you can print any cards in the deck even the joker and your spectator can examine the cards
get this trick it is incredible

Yeah Luke... We need more info!

You make this sound like a really sweet effect, can you at least tell us if it is a mechanical device? If so, it must be pretty simple (for the price).

Can you give us another example of the time of effects you can perform? Or better still, can you point us to a video on the net where this is used?

Cheers mate... Tony

If you click on to: http://www.emagictricks.co.uk/product_i ... ts_id=2263
there's a link to the video demo which shows this in action. More of an effect than a trick, I believe it may be mechanical as someone asked this on an earlier posting. Either way, it seems a good way of switching cards or just exchanging gaffed cards for clean ones. I ordered it from Laurence last week and am waiting for stock to arrive so will be able to let you know more when I get the digngus to try out!

Remarkable

I can't see the move and I have just run the video several times.

He is obviously placing them quite accurately when he first puts them in his pocket, but he seems to pull them straight out?

God knows how that works.

I've watched that video in slow motion (or as slow as possible without losing the whole thing) and still can't see the move. there’s a slight change to the appearance of the cards at one point but nothing conclusive. I suppose it will all be blindingly obvious once the item arrives! I also watched the video of Carpenter’s Nightmare without suspecting anything but, having bought the item, the move now seems to stick out like a sore thumb!

I also note that they refer to it being useful for 'other' items such as coins! I realise that there are established sleights, which can do the same sort of effects, but this seems to be a good alternative.

As the great man (don’t ask me who) once said – ‘It’s all in the presentation!’

Just been watching "The Silver Shifter" video on emagictricks, trying to work it out... and have done so (it's always very satisfying when you do!).

I had to watch it a few times though.

Can't find that one - any clues as to the product number or the full link to the vid?

OK, I've found it (elsewhere!). I see that the blurb says, 'Once bent, you immediately drop the coin into their hands for thorough inspection' but in fact this doesn't happen without some hand & arm turning first - very sus!

The bending coin looks very 'rubbery' and, sad to say, the effect might be more believable if it wasn't in plain view - dunno why but there is is. At over £30.00 this sounds like an expensive effect but will await reviews etc before saying anything further!

Yes, it's getting quite crowded!

I had a look at Magic Cafe some weeks ago but that seems to be so busy and 'crowded' it's more like a large and noisy Works Canteen than a Cafe. Shame there aren't more folks on this forum as it's got quite a character which is rather unique.

I had an exchange of e-mail with Laurence a day or so ago and he reckons there are still some changes & updates on the way so keep an eye out! Mind you, I also asked him about access to the MO section and he said he'd organise it on receipt of the usual e-mailed details. I did this same day but still can't get in yet so either I did something wrong or he's a busy chappie!

Perhaps a steady stream of postings from us all would regenerate things a little? Assuming we can find something worthwhile to post about, of course!

Just received confirmation from Laurence that Switch A Roo was despatched to me today.

Items usually arrive here at work next day so should be able to give y'all an indication of the inner mysteries soon. Assuming I can be suitably vauge about it in a public forum!

With Laurence, I think it genuinely is because he is so busy.

I have spoken to him on a number of occasions and he seems like a really nice guy. On one such occasions I mailed him asking him to paste a link to this site and later that day, it was up!

I agree with you about the Magic Cafe. I started doing some posting there, but you feel so much like a VERY small fish in a HUGE pond!
