Lawrence Turner's Vapour

VAPOUR
A self working magic vanish with tricks from NUMS

The Effect

VAPOUR isn't just an effect, it is a collection of ideas based around the excellent GLS vanish, the brainchild of Lawrence Turner.

Prepare to learn one of the most visual card vanishes—and also one of the easiest to perform. The PDF download also contains access to more web resources to help you use the GLS vanish for more than just fun.

NO GAFFS OR GIMMICKS! Can be done totally impromtu—and uses almost any regular deck of playing cards!

Check the demo above (wait around 20 seconds for the video to appear) to see how the GLS vanish can be used to spice up your flourishes, as well as using it in your magic tricks.

The booklet contains the following effects, all based around the GLS vanish:

VAPOUR-IZE: Lawrence's original handling of card to pocket, but in this variation, the selection jumps to the pocket twice
VAPOUR-TRAIL: A chosen card is vapourized, leaving nothing behind except it's name in the dust!
WHITEOUT: A signed selection disappears from the deck, only to reappear in the most unusual places.
GLS VANISH: The easy to learn card vanish which should open up a host of possibilities, not just the flourish value

Cost

normally £9.99, but a special deal at NUMS means that it is £5.00

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

3-4, not due to the sleights, but because it is bloody difficult!

Review

Well, I got my NUMS e-mail from good ole Seige, allerting me to this new effect in store, and within minutes I had purchased it! I must say, I was not dissapointed! The pdf explains it perfectly, even if it is hard to do, and some of the effects...wow! Whatan idea - my personal favourite is card to pocket - bloody brilliant! What magician can say that they can get a card selected, vapourise it, and have it appear in their pocket, before taking it out, saying they will do it again, vapourising it again, and having it appear in your pocket AGAIN??? Well I certainly can now!

The actualy vapourising of the card though...now that ain half hard...I am nearly there, and getting better at it, but am nowhere "near" performance standard yet. But take a look at the demo on NUMS...it really is that good!

Overall

One of my better purachases I have made in a long while - granted, there are better things out there, but there always are. But for this price? You are having a laugh! Nothing better!

A good healthy 8/10 at £9.99
an even more healthy 9/10 at £5.00!

Very much recomended!

Does the PDF come with instructions for the XCM(at least it looks like XCM to me) as well? I'll be buying this either way, but if not, does anywone know where it can be learnt from?

Ill second this review, I bought this earlier today - I didnt find the move THAT hard to do but it does need the practice as usual, but im getting there - its very smooth, visual and the pdf is well put together and easy to follow.

information on slight is brief, but straight forward. apparently there are videos coming soon to buyers which I guess should help further with any problems doing this move.

Hmm cant say im impressed. Edited by Mods... Speculation and potential revelation of effects isn't to be discussed in the open forums. If it is, is it really worth £5.00 for one simple, well known imho ,sleight?

I judge magical value by how much it costs compared to a night in the pub. As such I'll happily part with up to 30 quid without too many qualms because that money would only have ended up giving me a headache otherwise and even ropey effects can be reworked to get a good result. As such I'd have no problem spending a fiver on this, in fact I shall. I don't care if it's a well known sleight, I don't know it and it certainly looks nice. And it'll be better for me than 20 marlboro lights.

Received mine on Friday (after an embarassing failure on my part to understand how to download!! )

This is £5 worth of real magic IMO! It isn't easy and it will need a lot of practice before I could confidently show my chief critic (Mrs Wizz) but as for value for money it cannot be faulted (again IMO).

Great review which actually sold the product to me and I look forward to being competent enough to put this in my repertoire. For now it is my new sit in front of the TV and practice move.

On a final positive this is the first time I have downloaded a PDF trick and it has given me confidence that this is a quick, easy and effective way to purchase.

Well I downloaded this this morning and you really get your money's worth. I didn't know the sleight already and the tricks you get plus the promised bonus materials really add up to a good package.

The only ripe on my part is that I also bought Magicseen magazine today, only to discover that the GLS vanish is taught in there this month! Having said that it's only a brief description of the vanish rather than the added value of the pdf but I was slightly vexed...
