Hi there.

I don't remember the old forum at all, but I must comment that this is a very easy and friendly way to share ideas.
I spend most of my day in front of my computer doing web design, and being able to break off every once in a while and check what's going on here is great.

Magic, as we all know, is very much about sharing and performing, and gaining confidence is paramount. I think there's a lot of information here for beginners and pros alike, showing that you don't have to be the son of a Fakir or the lovechild of Merlin to be a magician.

Also, it's nice to talk secrets with people... sometimes it is difficult to converse with people about such an underground subject as magic - and even to the extent that it bores people (ask my missus!) when we enthuse about something as silly as being able to do 50 Charliers during a commercial break.

There's not many of us about, and this kind of meeting place is just what I was looking for.

Well done, Laurence, and all you other guys who are contributing.

I just had a quick check and see there are 9 on line at the moment. Apart from the established 15 at once on start up, this must be some kind of record - hiya everyone!!

Very true! I won't ask why you're still up at that unearthly hour - insomnia or something? Actually, I used to lie awake all night wondering if I'd got insomnia!

I've always found the best cure for insomnia is a good nights sleep.

 two reasons

1) I'm a carer.
2) the medication I'm on has a nasty side effect of keeping me awake, i could just put up with the pain but that would keep me awakw also.

can someone suggest a good vanishing trick for my prostste :!:

Oh, boy - no wonder you're awake. You have my sincere sympathies but, as a complete medical ignoramus, I can't offer you anything more useful than that. Re the prostate - I suppose waving your magic wand and saying, 'disappear' hasn't worked? No, I thought not.

Cheers,

ive got this magic pill shaped gimmick that keeps everything fro swelling to much.

its nice to be able to talk to like minded people about our art, now if i can only get into the magician's only section i wont have to say in thrd, i can say the whole word.

hope the powers that be are checking our posts.

my experience is more on the practical side rather than the who's who of magicians, but i hope i still have something to contribute.

though sleep deprovation can make your posts a bit irratic

Keep taking your magic pills, and keep posting!

Your thoughts are welcome, and I believe that you should be granted access, personally.

Although, that is the admin's decision!

OK, thanks for all that - I agree that to share a common interest with others like this is really quite invigorating. Come to think of it, I’m very common myself!

Re the 'Inner Sanctum' I understand that the moderators are keeping an eye on things and may be granting access 'automatically'. However, it wouldn't hurt to e-mail the mods and ask if there's any progress in this direction for you. No need for a brown envelope of used fivers on this forum – just grovel a bit!

:lol:thanks for the imfo i have been prctising magic fo around 15 yrs now 5+yrs commercialy.

most of my shows are with kids some with adult kids.
i have found that some tricks sound great i bought a box and plunger to produce sweets from, but in practice it proved to bee next to useles.

not to be detered i decided to use the box section with my ghost tube now i have a square circle production box that can bee shown completely empty with no funny moves.

lawrence does a ghost tube for about £17, if he added a box surround he could flock a square circle with two loads, just a thought :?:
