thats correct, i got an e-mail this morning, which im assuming goes out to all existing members and e-magictricks customers giving details on how your membership progresses and how many posts are required for each section

personally i dont agree with the "50 posts and your in bit" i mean all you have to do is type a different word in each forum thread and that makes you a magician??

Good point!! However, it is not a "computer automated" process. The general guideline is that after 50 posts admission will be granted, although this is at moderator discretion.

in my opinion this is a good thing as it encourages people to discuss stuff, and is also good for business.

the only thing is that it will need to be regulated properly, ie. not letting just anyone have access for typing any old thing to gain access

The question of who should gain access to a secret area is always a difficult one. There are a few sites out there that answer the problem by saying 50 posts and you're in and you could say at least that shows some commitment on the part of the poster.

However personally I would favour a 50 quality posts + one original review system. If it was obvious a poster was simply banging out short posts just to reach the magic 50, then it should be made clear their posts weren’t going to gain them access.

This system would at least assure that most posts were of a certain standard. No offence, but I would respectfully say a number of the posts I have seen since the new forum was opened are being made SOLELY to gain the individual access to the Secret sections of this forum and that is a shame.
