Review
This is what it says on the site:

This is a visual coin-through-glass that does not require magnets, wires, strings, threads, special coins, or special tables. The magician borrows a coin, drops it in the middle of the table, and pushes it through, the coin visibly landing in his empty hand underneath the table. The coin can even be signed, and the coin, with signature on it, is clearly seen in the magician's hand after it falls through the table. With just your bare hands and a coin, you are achieving this.

use any kind of coin

different objects can be used; candy, paperclips, etc.

Easy to perform

My Review

There seems to be a plethora of coin through glass table released adjust recently and now along comes Descent by Kevin Parker.

However this is not just another coin through glass table, this one is different as it uses no gimmicks ( to attach, load or ditch), just a little something to achieve the effect, this little something the majority of you will have in your possession already and in my view is not a gimmick

The effect is a coin is clearly seen to pass through a glass table. Check out the demo at:
http://www.kevinparkerproductions.com/descent.html

The big advantages of this coin through glass table over the others, is that there is no need to carry a gimmick with you all the time, you can use ANY coin unlike the other effects and you can also use a borrowed signed coin. As for the angles they are comparable/similar to the angle restrictions of the other coin through table effect.

Overall
For me this is the ultimate coin through glass table, it ticks all the boxes that I look for in an effect; no gimmick to carry around (though do need a little something, but certainly not a gimmick). Can be done impromptu, can be done with a borrowed coin (any borrowed coin). The angle restrictions are only the same as the other coin through table effects.
Overall this is well worth £12, if you are just starting out in magic it is a good first effect to learn , no complicated sleights to learn. If you are already experienced in magic this is a great effect to add to your repertoire, a quick, clear, simple effect to do when you are asked to do something.

One final note this is available as a DVD or as a download, the download is DRM video, so please be aware it will only work on the computer you install it on.

HELP!

Postby wx_stealth » Jul 25th, '06, 11:04

Sorry but i really need your help. I ordered "Descent" yesterday and it requires a license in order to be viewed. When I key in the Username and password. It says "User Inactive. Please try again". I've been trying for the past hour and still not working. HELP

Just out of interest, have you tried emailing Kevin Parker Productions? He's a nice bloke who likes to keep legitimate customers happy.

Also are you using/on a Mac? I don't think that his products can be downloaded to a Mac and then viewed :?.

Nice review though, thanks for that! :).

Are saying this for magicians, that we maybe posses, or is this a ordinary thing?

If anyone's interested I reviewed this too a while back. It's here http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic11253. ... ht=descent

Rather annoyingly I haven't performed it, simply because I never ever seem to be in the vicinity of a glass table. When I got the effect I was confident that they were abundant but not in my neck of the woods it seems.

The artist who does not rise, descends.

Yeah this is really a nice effect, really like it. Too bad Idont hav a glass table to practice on it. The signed coin version is a clever thing too.

Once again bringing up an old-ish topic.

But I'm planning on getting some new material this week-end and some mainly coin stuff and things to do with bottles...don't ask why :?

Anyway I was wondering, does this only work on a glass table?
Would it work on a window?
How about a wooden table, I know it probably won't as good even if it did, but is it possible?

Thanks

Not sure its possible to do this through a glass window. I think this could be possible through the glass in a door tho, with a little thought.
