Has Penguin ever stocked this in the UK, or am I just waiting fruitlessly?

On another note, does a video demo even exist? I would love to see how this effect looks after all the great reviews...

Thanks,

Kati

It's a fairly long effect to do properly so may be too much for a demo vid - there seems to be no sign of one via Google anyway.

It's about as long as a piece of string, or the time it takes to do cups and balls! As there is spectator participation involved, it could be 5 minutes or it could be 10 or more depending on what you want to make of it. There are three aspects involved, each one eclipsing the previous one, so you might need to take it at a leisurely pace so the full impact isn't diluted in any way.

I know all that's not much help but it's far more than a simple 'find the lady' type packet trick. :D

That was a bit of a silly question, now I think about it :D.

One last thing...should I reasonably expect PenguinUK to stock it? Has anyone bought it from them before?

To clarify: PenguinMagic UK seems to have had DA out of stock for a good long time now. The question was if anyone had bought it; i.e. if it has been in stock at some previous time, and so will possibly be in story sometime soon - or am I just waiting for nothing?

I tend to check bargainmagic.co.uk for UK suppliers. Their search engine works pretty well.

I have issues with Penguin as do many others. A search on TMs search function may help illustrate why.

You'll like DA...it's pretty flipping clever!

Try there, maybe a tad over the top in price, but I recently took this trick for a test drive the other evening. The pre amble to the trick was long, but the end result....DEVASTATING. FOCL

I will write back with a few (!) opinions later when i get 10 minutes...

Does anyone know if there is a demo of this available anywhere?

Deep Astonishment is a upgraded version of Pauls "Anything Deck" my personal favorite version. If you look close enough you can find Pauls complete routine somewhere on Steve Bryant's Little Egypt website.

I am already familiar with the Anything Deck version. How does Deep Astonishment differ (i.e. prediction cards are different colour). Is it worth purchasing Deep Astonishment if you already use the Anything Deck version?

Deep Astonishment was meant to make the handling easier by adding the wallet. The added color change really does nothing for me. I'll stick with the original.

Seige (or anyone)

You didn't mention the handling difficulty in your review.
Can you give it an out of 5 re the sleights involved & if you want to mention what sleights are required then even better. Ta so muchly :)

Johnny - from what I've heard this is extremely easy to do...but then I don't own it.

I would say DA is a 2 out of 5.

There are no sleights and the handling is natural and easy. A tiny bit of management and confident presentation will see you through to a stunning revelation.
