Anyone used these before? Are they any good?

Bicycle Pro Poker Peek
Authentic 'Poker Peek' faces designed by professionals for professionals. Durable custom casino cotton-paper blend. Pro-cut, edges grip fingers for better control during shuffling.

Just got a pack of these today.
A bit dissapointed, as they've cut them the wrong way round. :o
If you shuffle with the faces up, then this pack has more grip. If you shuffle with the faces down (like every normal poker player or magician) then you're going to have trouble keeping hold of the cards. Insane.
They feel a bit floppier, more like tallys. Faces are a bit wierd, but easy to see which value the card is.

After having gotten accustomed to an old crummy deck of Bikes, I just then opened and handled a new deck.

Wow! The difference is astounding! :D :D :D

And is it just me or is a DL a lot harder to pull off with new slippery cards?

PS. Has anybody had days when they just couldn't pull off a good looking DL no matter what?!

There are dicount places in the US where you can buy a box of twelve Bycycle poker decks for $12.99 and sometimes they come with an extra deck for the same price. Also, lay people are familar with Bikes and do not suspect them nor do they know of the various gaffs made for them. They don't make the same gaffs for Tally Ho or other good brands so it makes sense to use Bikes.

I just opened some new decks and noticed a special offer for personalized versions, sadly only applicable to the US and Canada (hence the spelling of 'personalized'!) but that's not usually a problem for those outside the US with a bit of initiative , and there's a code to get three for the price of two.

Website: www.BicyclePersonalizedCards.com

Code: 1FREEWITH3

Upload your favourite photo or design for the backs, choose out of two versions of faces, pay up nicely - $19.99 per deck or three for $39.98 with the code and there you go!

When I first saw the advertisement card about getting a personalized decks I thought i was in heaven.
Then I read it was only for people in the US (and I'm from Belgium)
Luckily friends of mine live in Colorado Springs and they come to Belgium once a year. So I'm getting my personalized decks in a couple of months 8)

Spoiled for choice really, any image can be used but it would have to be chosen carefully otherwise there would be three more decks heading for the back of the drawer of oblivion!

HUGELY ancient thread, but having read it I just had to mention that I've read (elsewhere on this forum if I recall) that the personalised decks aren't of Bicycle quality. I don't know that for absolute fact but certainly would encourage a person to check before they order some.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but for some people choosing what brand/style of cards they want it might be handy to remember that a lot of gaff cards are available with the Bicycle back :)

Que?

I live in UK and I still use Bicycle's

You can get 12 packs for £20.00 (arounf £1.60 a pack) from Amazon

Had to laugh at the waddintons No1 statement.

I knew I wasn't 'normal' anyway but this just confirms it.

Do Waddingtons have a sort of plasticy smell? The deck I found in a pub recently had a sort of plasticy smell. It may have been my imagination though. Was very drunk!

And can you faro Waddies? I haven't tried.

Doesn't Paul Daniels use Waddingtons? Or did I dream that?
