Buddha Chop Cup

Price: $55 or £27 to £30 at the moment with packing too..

Ease of use -out of 5: as difficult or as easy as you want to make it - 2 to 5

What you get: well, look at the picture...

ok then, you get:
ancient japanese dragon images on the (gimmicked) chop-cup, with symbol on the base of it...aged nicely, very mystical and 'real' looking.
2 red crochet balls, one gimmicked.
A gimmicked buddha.
2 pages of instructions.
And a fine silk bag to keep it all in (mine was red and black luckily)...

Review:
Ah that old classic of magic, often over-looked by people as being old fashioned...but it teaches you lots about magic, sleights, story telling, misdirection and so forth...

i've only ever had the cheapo marvin's magic edition when i first started. I saw this one, and instantly fell in love with it.

The construct and quality is phenominal to be honest. I'd been promising myself to sniff around a chop cup set for a while, i was going to order the standard aluminium set, but something was always putting me off...

This though, is superb. Everything is solid and of a very high standard. I have relatively small hands for my height but there's been no problem with using the buddha at all...

You all know the basics im sure (if you don't, well tsk tsk) - the balls move (ouch) from hither and thither, re-appear, change size and generally misbehave...with the finale being a surprise change to an unrelated object...in this case, bhudda...

Katsu! for those in the know...

Overall: quality, durable props, scope for a more interesting story-line and very mystical/mythical looking...you're bound to draw attention using these...very good value for money...

P.S. - I'm after this next, i love the classic 3 shell game, its earned me lots of drinks in the past...

jerome - i've had absolutely no problems with the magic emporium...far from it, im in the UK, and i've had stuff arrive sooner from them, than some UK based shops...4 days for this effect to turn up...

by the way, i performed this twice over the weekend, and it did seem to go down very well, the finale when the buddha appears after theyve just seen the cup empty plays with their minds a little...and i made it re-appear later on via a deck of cards (lennart green first dvd)..."keep an eye on the buddha!"

Buddha

Mine arrived yesterday and I have to say it is absoutely brilliant!

What the review did not say is that this is a 'double' chop cup. The cup and the Buddha are 'chopped', so the phases of the routine are even more magical than the standard chop cup. The quality of materials is very high and the look and feel of the cup are excellent.

This is also nicely reviewed along with other products from Fantasma Magic (http://www.Fantasmamagic.com) in this month's Linking Ring.

10/10 for me.
