Magic Makers- Black Deck, Yellow Deck, & Red Deck

The Black Deck

Words cannot describe the beauty of a blacked faced deck. I swear I was hypersalivating when I first opened the box. These cards are the most beautiful object I have ever layed my eyes on, I'm not kidding. They are sleek, stylish, edgy, and scream Master Magician. I would rate this as one of my top 5 purchases of all time (even non-magic related)
The quality is the same as a normal deck of Bicycles, who cares... They are incredible, and will last longer because of the care I will treat them with.
All I can say is BUY IT! I'm serious, I'm not just telling you because I like it... this deck is absolutely incredible! It almost makes me want to cry.
The deck even comes with extra gaffed cards! They are a: Vanishing Deck Card (no yankeeprez, I'm not going to tell you) Blank Faced Card, and Card Box Card.
This deck is unrivaled... it absolutely kills the black tiger deck (lower case on purpose )

Looks- 10/10
Quality- 7/10
Value- 10/10

The Yellow Deck

These cards where bought out of curiousity... Personally If I had a choice of any cards in the world, these wouldn't come to mind... But still, Imagine the allure of a yellow faced deck. These cards look so odd, its almost cool.
The yellow faced design makes for interesting court cards... I have to say the Baby Blue hilights on them look sooo cool! This is another must-have for the serious card collector.
The quality is much the same as a normal Bicycle Deck.
The deck comes with 3 extra gaffed cards, the are: A blanked faced card, and two, three card monte cards.

Looks- 7/10
Quality- 7/10
Value- 9/10

The Red Deck

Woah, these cards are certainly attention getting. The red faces deffinetly are cool looking. The Red Deck is very neat... The court cards look excellent. The whole theme is a little to "Valentines" to me... but hey! I like this deck better than they yellow deck.
The Quality is obviously the same as a normal deck of bikes.
They come with: A DF Queen/Joker, DF Red/Black Card, and A Twisted Sisters King.

Looks- 8/10
Quality- 7/10
Value- 10/10

Nice review.

It's obvious you really like these cards, but I think there are a few elements you have either left out, or haven't considered. Personally, these aren't my cup of tea. I agree - the black faces look very swanky. However, the BACKS of the cards are the same as a standard bike back. To me, this detracts from the quality a great deal. Why would a card have a black face, but not a black back? Reverse a card in the deck and it stands out quite clearly.

The obvious answer to this would be that you could slide this card into a regular deck and use it for color changes. However, it seems Magic Makers didn't take that into account when designing these. The back design has been slightly altered (the borders of the back design are not the same as a standard bicycle rider back), so a black deck card can't be slipped into a normal black backed bike deck. Well, technically it COULD, but and observant spectator can catch the discrepency.

I haven't used the yellow or reds, so I'm assuming this situation applies to those cards as well.

To me, they seem more of a novelty thing, and an obvious attempt by Magic Makers to jump on Ellusionist's exotic deck ideas. It's an ok idea, but I really think if they were going to go with the colored deck theme, they should have gone the whole way.

I'm just waiting for a company willing to pony up the extra cash to print white onto black card stock and make the tigers/vipers obsolete.

Thanks for the review!

is the red deck cards' backs nicer dan the normal red deck? lol awhile ago i saw 1 guy trying to decide which deck to buy. the lady there recommended the red deck and he was hesitant about it. he thought it was the same as the normal red backed deck and he actually thought the lady was scamming him  is there any way you can post some pictures? that would be nice :D

I have to say that I agree with Demitri on this one........

I bought one of each of the black, red and yellow decks just to try them out and they are nothing different to the Bike pastels concept in my opinion.

They ARE difficult to use with a normal deck and there aren;t any gimmicks available for them unless specially made. The're just a normal deck of cards as far as a magician is concerned at almost three times the price. You can even get ghosts, tigers and vipers cheaper now which are MUCH better cards IMO.

Pure novelty and nothing more.
