shade by daniel garcia

brought in alakazam but to be honest can't remember the price!!

difficulty:3-4

what they say
shadow coins has been a favorite effect among magicians for years. now daniel garcia has released his chink-a-chink routine that only uses 4 coins and includes: a standard shadow coin routine, a backfire ending, and a flash four appearance, no extra coins and no gaffs!

what i say
it is exactly as they say it is. a shadow routine with four coins. for you that don't know a shadow routine it is where you have four coins ina form of a square and with your two hands you place over the coins and the coins jump around to meet each other. a wonderful effect.
now this isn't exactly too difficult but practise is really called upon here. the dvd is very clear to what you have to do and daniel repeats phases quite a bit. you have to be very careful with your angles and i don't think you could do this on a table top as the coins would talk alot. b ut on a close up mat i reckon this could be lovely. i am pretty new to coin magic but i reckon you guys would like this.
conclusion: out of 5 i would give it a 3 due to restrictions of perfoming

Thanks for the review, i was going to buy this, as the price is quite reasonable, but i was put off by the 'restrictions' you mentioned. Still, it's meant to be pretty good.

i think that its a good trick, but certainly it requires alot of practise. i do not own this trick, but i know how its done. basically someone on youtube did it just so badly that i exposed his whole shade routine, and when i tried it out on some of my friends, one of them said to me ," woah since when you know how to perform shade." this trick requires plenty of practise, i had a hard time following the whole routine that was in the video and took around 3 days to really be able to perform it to stun people. even at that stage i would say im not close to perfection at all. great trick, nice coin assembly, but certainly requires quite some practise.

oh yeah only 4 and shade are somehow very similar but at the same time different. i would say i prefer shade as it looks awesome when done perfectly and at the correct speed. only 4 is great and requires practise too. i think i would choose shade :P
