 your welcome

its easy to make jumbo versions of your clasic packet tricks.
please buy the trick first as I'm not sure of the legalities of blowing up a packet trick, bit like copying tv programes a grey area.

Magicdiscoman...

What a great idea!

Do you even round the corners off???

I suppose you can even create your own gaff cards on the computer! Hmm... now that gives me some great ideas!

Thanks!

Peculiar... I don't really play card games.

Usually, if I'm out with friends or whenever the idea of a card game crops up, I end up doing an hour of impromptu magic... which lets everyone forget the card games.

Used to play a lot of card games when I was younger - but that was before I used to make the cards dance around my fingers. I think we all remember playing pontoon or blackjack - and fiddling around with the cards thinking about magic. I certainly did.

Back to thread topic...
Reveals with envelopes are becoming a favourite of mine - I did a two card reveal of some ESP cards which were placed in a blank-faced deck (i.e. there were only two printed cards - and I forced them and had them enveloped). The rest of the deck is shown first - the cards are all blank faced! Then, each envelope is opened, and the spectators have chosen not only the symbols I'd predicted - BUT also the ONLY symbol cards in the entire deck. Great. Without envelopes - this would seem a little flat. They're a great utility.

There's something mildly mysterious about locking the card AWAY from the deck. If the card is forced and returned, or simply held onto, the revelation lacks a rhythm. Having the card enveloped (there's some nice little card sized ones available in most stationers) and then revealed is quite magical.

Here's another revelation as posted by Maximus in another thread (hopefully he won't mind me copying it here...

I do a trick with a svengali deck where you use a duplicate force card and burn a small hole through the middle with a soldering iron or a ciggarete.
Hide this card in your deck then force a card and return it. have youre spectator shoot the deck with their fingers. then reveal your card with the hole.I didnt invent this trick so all the credit goes to the inventor I dont know who

Like Magicdiscoman, I've scanned and printed a force card in A4 and the effect if very rewarding.

You can dress the presentation up in a number of different ways such as having the card delivered during the routine in a sealed envolope, What is a nice touch is if you're able to get a copy of someone's signature in advance and also scan onto the enlarged card. Get them to sign the real forced card, disapear it into the deck and then produce the scanned and enlarged card. If you instruct the card to be signed across the middle then this is what people will usually do.

What a fascinating thread - I don't even know how I missed this one. I've got nothing to add to it, just thought I'd post to give it more 'air-time,' if you know what I mean...

If you haven't got a scanner or colour printer, I've thought of photo copying a black 'tiger' card to achieve a similar effect as you don't need any colour - but haven't tried it yet.

I may do shortly and let you know how I got on - if you try it first then let me know!

And if you don't have Black Tigers, just scan the regular blue deck, change colours to black and white and then reverse colours to a negative image - the result is almost identical to a Black Tiger!

I found a pair of socks which have two lines of three red hearts on each sock. These can be used to reveal a three or a six of hearts. They could be worn, then the trousers pulled up for he reveal, or even kept folded in a top pocket, with only the black showing.

Plant a duplicate card on the volunteer (pocket or handbag) and have them discover it.

I've seen glass coasters in this years charity gift catalogues which have cards on them. Bring in a guest's hot drink on the coaster. A cup and saucer is perfect, in case he has "tin throat" and can consume very hot drinks. Lift the saucer and there's the card.

If someone has driven to visit you, sneak out before the card is chosen and place a duplicate card under the windscreen wiper. As they are about to go home, offer to show them a quick card trick, but fail to find the card. They'll find it soon enough. If you have had a parking ticket, make a dummy one and put the card in that. They'll think they had a ticket, but it's their chosen card.

When I posted on this the other week, I was going to mention Penn and Teller's pizza reveal, but delted it because I didn't like the idea of tipping a published effect. However, it's just been mentioned on another thread as having been done by Max Magic (albeit in a different form).

The chosen card is revealed by the pizza topping, for example, a four of clubs made out of black olives.

Another one which might suit you is to use a temporary tattoo kit. I have one I bought years ago in Charles H. Fox, a make up shop in Covent Garden and I've seen airbrush ones in Argos. Simply apply a tattoo with the card on it and roll up your sleeve at the appropriate moment.
