Oh god, I did this before with mine [£1 version]. Is there any gap at all? If you can't do anything then superglue some string to the 10p [LOADS OF IT!], leave it to dry and then yank!

I'd suggest a very good dose of WD40 and then some light tapping to try and dislodge the coin and shell. If it doesn't work then at least it will wipe off without doing any damage. Always avoid metal on metal if possible as it always carries a risk of damage.

It there was a way for it to go in then there should be a way for it to come out again

Not the yanking. I kept banging mine and it came out. I'd do what Dat said by putting some Wd-40 in it and banging it on a table or hardish surface [don't bang too hard though!]

Thanks or this idea. Mine is a 2p (steel) with a 10p inside it. Does that make any difference?

A match or a big evil flame?

Interesting idea, however, I would have thought the metal would expand in all directions, including inwards. Not only would this increase your problems, so would the inevitable bad burns you are bound to inflict on your hands.
Your choice, but I really wouldn't try this.
Sorry to put a dampener on things
;)

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

A word of caution.

I heated a 1p 1 pound up too much and the magent lost its attraction.
Its a known weakness of neo type magnets, they don't like to be submitted to extreme heat.

Some good points here. I shall abandon the heat method. Also perhaps both coins would expand!

I will try the superglue method, if I can just unstick my fingers from the keyboard.

Gentle heat is probably OK and the expansion and contraction might just dislodge one part enough to free it. Try putting it in the oven after cooking something and it's been turned off to cool down. Failing that try wrapping it in cling film and freezing it for an hour or so then bring it out to warm up to room temperature.

Wise words from a wizard. I will try.

I guess if I really had magic powers then I would be able to do this without a problem. It just goes to show what a fraud I am.

dat8962 wrote:Agreed - there's something about owning an Eddie coin as opposed to the others, despite the competition also being well engineered.

I'm sure that the EG's will become collectors items one day so keep the instructions and coin together when not using it.

A sound investment!

When you say Eddie's coins, do you mean the version that is the "Eddie Gibson" version? I was looking at getting these as advertised on the bottom of this page but wanted to make sure i was getting the good quality ones. Also, can the pound coin be handed out before the trick (without a switch) and can any 1p coin be used? Thanks
