Used Thought Transmitter 100s times; now live TeleThought2

Postby MagicLary » Jul 7th, '11, 21:18

I've been a "strolling" magician for decades and once I got Thought Transmitter, I used it about a thousand times. It always killed and the method of putting a rubber band around it (which I learned from John himself) affords a PERFECT glance at The Secret Something.
However, you cannot do it in brite sunlight, as I found out one day.
I ran through about four batteries.

However, recently, I won a contest at Elmwood Magic here in the states and got a gift certificate. At Paul Richard's suggestion, I bought the TeleThought2 A business card wallet. (the latest version of that type) and I AM IN LOVE.

No batteries. No problem with the sun. Examinable. It uses a space-age peek system which is foolproof and the peek makes perfect sense.
It looks like a business card wallet and not a magic prop.[/b]

thought transmitter or solstice wallet

Postby ChrisD » Jul 19th, '11, 22:32

Hi, Just wondering without giving anything away, what (apart from huge cost difference) would be the difference between using the 'thought transmitter' or a 'solstice wallet'?

Solstice wallet

Postby MagicLary » Jul 20th, '11, 14:48

Sorry. I don't know what a solstice wallet is. Perhaps its known by some other name in the states

Almost any peek device could be used, it just depends on the routine and your own preferences.

MagicLary - the solstice wallet is an electronic device you can find it on the products page here:

Mandrake - Thanks for your reply. I realise there will be a degree of personal preference in any field and for any gimmick.

I suppose what I am really asking for is clarification - can the same effects be done with each of these items?

I had steered clear of the various wallets available as I didn't really believe they could be that good, however reading some of the positive feedback here has caused me to rethink my position.

Thanks again for replying.

Magician's love using this. Seriously, you can see their little faces light up when using the Thought Transmitter...

This are two photos of the TeleThought Wallet 2.

In the USA it's $65.

It's a business card sized walllet.

If I didn't do that right, just http://bit.ly/reaOmo

 Just a shame that 99% of them do it because they don't have the balls to do an old fashioned peek.

Funny thing is, ask someone to recap an effect where a billet is used and they don't mention that t was written down.
Ask them to describe this and the first thing they say is, he brought out a special wallet!

On the contrary, if handled right all that's vaguely remembered is a notepad being used - which is quite innocent if the presentation is good.

Largely, I agree with Mandrake, but every so often you will meet someone who is a bit suspicious. In my case, a friend of a friend remembered the "milkman's wallet", which I believe is a relative of the Himber Wallet. The Thought Transmitter is nothing like this, but he was immediately suspicious of the wallet coming into play. He knew it wasn't the same sort of thing. Then again, he's a policeman, so he's paid to be suspicious and notice things. :)

ChrisD, the Solstice Wallet is very different from the Thought Transmitter in operation. The main difference is (as I understand the SW), that with the SW you don't need to go anywhere near the other person, or the wallet. However, I think that you are in some respects more limited with what the spectator can write than you are with the TT.

I only used my Thought Transmitter a few times. I moved on to a peek wallet, and now I mainly use methods that don't require anything other than a piece of paper or an index card.

Thanks for all the replies.

I have done a bit more research elsewhere and Part-timer is spot on.

Thanks for the info.

I know that neglecting the proper learning of the various traditional peeks would be limiting and I do put the effort into developing my ability with these, but I am also a gadget geek, I love how tech can be used hence my interest in these items.

Thanks again for everyones input.

Very true. On another forum someone mentioned this kind of effect ask if they should repeat it as a spec asked them if they could do the "wallet trick" again. Speaks volumes...
