My justification is that I use it standing up, and it's a writing surface.

Johnny,

You won't have any problems regarding things going out of the apropriate area if you use smaller post-its. I also use a fine felt pen so the lines are a bit thicker and more easily seen.

I also ask the spec to think of a simple shape such as a fish or triangle then have them write it down. The most complex shape I've had drawn was a smiley which was easy to see despite the spec being pi**ed and not drawing it very well.

After I've said a fish or a triangle I say not to pick one of those as I've just mentioned them. More often than not they go for a square, circle, tree or house.

You don't need to put it away, just put it casually on the table in full view and only open it to confirm that you're right. Better still, get another spec to open it and confirm.

I know that this is an old thread but I am thinking about buying one of these.

I have a couple of questions. Firstly, there were a lot of very enthusiastic reviews when this came out. Is this still something that people use or has it gone to the back of the cups drawer?

Also, can it be used in the realtively low light of a restauarant or is it a light critical item?

Lee, I'll argue. You can't perform this outside in bright sunlight, you just can't see if its too bright.

Below is what I posted in some other thread;

I first bought the Mind Reader Wallet which is a copy (although I didn't realise at the time) of the Thought Transmitter, it does however look more like a normal wallet. When the MRW ran out I bought the Thought Transmitter & put the 'cough' into the MRW wallet so I now have the more powerful TT 'Cough' used in the more realistic looking Mind Reader Wallet.

I'm off ot neck a few bottles of Covonia now.

So morally the Thought Transmitter is the original but the Mind Reader Wallet does look less gimmicked.

I've had 2 TTs and thought they were excellent, but the "coughs" did not last as long as I had hoped, and are not easily replaced. This for me is a major difficulty.
If anyone has a suggested solution which is UK based please pm me.

You should be able to prize it apart & replace the battery. Don't have mine to hand but I remember one of the Mind Reader Wallets wasn't working too well, I took it apart & bent something & it made it work with much less pressure. I'm pretty sure there was a small battery involved.

small post it

use a sharpie pen

put a business card inside, and start by showing business card

get cheap ones - £2 machines - and write stuff on there related to your routine

i do the world's best routine for this, but i initially fail to get trick right...

buy one, but dont buy a cheap copy

The TT is padded full of plasticene or putty-like substance, or so more than one person has said. As far as I could tell, it's designed to make you have to buy a whole new pack from the creator, which I think is a poor show, especially as the necessary replacements are hard to come by. Davenports used to sell them, I'm told, but then stopped.

I moved on to other means for doing much the same as the TT, so never looked into it myself.

Davenports still sell them.

That's interesting. Their catalogue said they did, but when this person tried, they didn't have any. Perhaps he misunderstood, and they were only out of stock.

That's a bit annoying. I'm so sure the Mind Reader Wallet allowed for this. Perhaps not so much a cheap copy as a better wallet & insert. I must say that the makers of the Mind Reader Wallet should aknowledge the inventor of the Thought Transmitter but I do prefer the MRW.
