Review

Herb Zarrow the creater of the shuffle teaching it on DVD.

They Say:

The Zarrow Shuffle is the ultimate false riffle shuffle. Now Herb Zarrow explains the details and secret techniques that make the Zarrow Shuffle undetectable. No matter how many riffle shuffles you give the deck, you maintain complete control of all the cards. The Zarrow Shuffle is the most deceptive false shuffle ever created and one of the few sleights that was instantly adopted not only by top card workers but also by professional card sharpers.

Persi Diaconis in his introduction to Dai Vernon’s Revelations wrote: "Zarrow’s shuffle may very well be the single most important practical card move invented since Erdnase."

This is the first time that Herb Zarrow, the inventor of the shuffle, has revealed these handlings, variations and presentations using the shuffle. Most of the material on this tape has never been available before, including many fine points and applications that have been held back for more than 40 years. Learn from the only authorized DVD/video on the subject taught by Herb Zarrow, the man who invented it all.

This may be your only opportunity to really master this technique and add a valuable weapon to your arsenal of secret sleights.

I Say:

The shuffle really is good. Herb is a likeable character and teaches well. The instructions are easy to follow and I was able to get the shuffle within 30-45 mins but will take me longer to master it of course.

In addition to the shuffle Herb goes through a number of routines. This is the weaker part of the DVD.

In my humble opinion the core knowledge was taught in the first 15mins the rest of the DVD was fill and not of much value but to get instruction on the shuffle was worth the money.

Overall

7/10

hi humdai,

i've also recently bought this dvd, and am currently practicing the move. Just wanted to ask you how your shuffle is coming along, and what tricks you have thought about applying it too?

so far, the best application i have come up with is a quick opening trick, u shuffle the deck 3 or 4 times while telling them that you have been banned from casinos, then deal 4 hands for poker and give yourself all aces.

i love learning from this dvd, Herb is about 80's years old and has a really nostalgic love of magic, he takes time to mention all his friends (including Vernon and Slydini!) and gives the whole thing an atmosphere of class. you really feel like you are learning something special from a wise man of magic. He's also got 2 elderely friends at the table with him who remind him to go over all the key points. I love this dvd, its a classic!! if i ever get my shuffle as smooth as herbs, im going to become a full time card-cheat.

I have been developing an easy to remember deck order which repeats winning poker hands alerted by certain key cards. Still in development as few bugs to iron out but once complete i will be putting it with a story and taking it to my local magic club :)
