Dual Cyclone by Paul Knight

The Effect
The blurb from the website.

The magician has two cards in his pocket. The pocket is shown otherwise empty.

A spectator is invited to `physically` select either card without looking at the cards face. Then the spectator mentally selects and names any card.

The magician explains that this is an experiment in physical and mental abilities.

He states that he knew they would pick this card. The chosen card is turned face up to reveal a prediction: -

`THIS IS THE CARD YOU WILL PICK - PHYSICALLY`.

The magician explains that they could have chosen to `physically` remove either card.

The magician points out that if the spectator had chosen to remove the other card, well, that would have just been insane, because that was the card they selected `mentally`!

The spectator removes the only card in the magicians pocket.

It is their mental selection!

Review
Whilst reading the latest magicseen I saw this advertised, rushed to the pc for some reviews & found some very positive ones on the magic cafe forum so I bought it.

The effect does indeed play out as stated but there's one part in the effect I really can't get to grips with. Obviously you have to locate their chosen card at some point & that is what bugs me as I can see no justification to be spreading through the deck & I can't really say more than that here.

The reviews on magic cafe were all 100% positive & no one mentioned this, so maybe its a fault with myself but the booklet itself offers no justification for doing this.

If you ignore this downside then the rest of the effect is lovely & pretty easy to do.

Also there is a bonus handling at the end of the booklet which really doesn't explains itself at all well, ie whats the benefit. I understand that a revised handling has been devised & at this point in time I'm not sure whether I have that revised handling or whether it will be emailed on to me.

Overall
Until I find justification for my problem this is going into my unused pile, maybe if someone here has some ideas they could post them here or PM me.

So how to mark it?
2/10 due to the above problem. :( :(
8/10 if that problem isn't a problem to you. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
