I didn't get the method of the transported man 'til very near the end either, at whoch point lots of other bits that had been niggling at me suddenly made sense.

As for that vanishing ball bearing trick, I assumed that was CGI. So Jackman can actually perform that then? I was trying to work out how to do it by sleight as smoothly as he does and couldn't come up with a way, obviously there are certain devices that can achieve it. Anyone able to shed any light on that?

Hugh Jackman did that trick as part of the press interviews promoting the film a few weeks ago.

Watching this film really made me just go home and buy tricks! Most expensive film I've ever seen (especially if you suffer from CUPS)

I thought that it was a good film with a nice twist in the tale but as for it hitting on my CUPS syndrome - I think that it cured it

The Illusionist is one of the greatest stories ever told... Edward Norton played a fantastic part.
I really liked the way the Orange Tree was re-created, C.G.I. really made Robert Houdin's original 1845 act come to life as I'm sure the great man himself had imagined.

Great film the Prestige. Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors. Loved him in American Psycho.

I thought The Prestige was mindbogglinly brilliant fantastic, incredible and rather good.

And I'd forgotten that it was Christian Bale in American Psycho.

Ok, I got round to seeing it last night and your right... it's very good. I wouldn't say 'Better than' the Illusionist but certainly 'As good as'.
It has made me a little curious though, as the truth behind having Tesla as the inventor of magic tricks. Is this true? I do a lot of research on Gyroscopic Propulsion and Perpetual motion so I know that Tesla really was hounded and ridiculed by Thomas Edison, I just find it a little obscure that my two passions in life might have a very definite connection especially as I have never seen this connection made before… perhaps I’ve had my head in those science books for to long and just missed it!
Cool....

Joe, I agree... I've been practicing that ring roll all week after seeing the film. I'm finding it a bit hard to honest as I am a real beginner to magic. I must say though mate, that little coin conveyor clip with your name in the picture is Awesome.
