The Effect
Supposedly a highly entertaining Mentalism show that you can buy the props @ your local supermarket for less than $10

Cost
$99.95 from L&L Publishing

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
Well considering it doesn't use any slights, just psychological stuff it's hard to rate...

Review
Having read 3 of the 4 Colour Books of Mentalism, I was really looking forward to watching this. Was expecting to be entertained & baffeled by how he read the spec's minds...
Well I was definiatly baffeled... at how someone could produce something so boring, I had been watching the DVD for 20min & he hadn't even done his 1st effect :( many of the effects left me wondering what he'd been trying to prove & why he did what he did
He had to solicit applause from the audiance several time (Not usually the case with the L&L crowd - even "Front Row Frank" didn't seem that impressed)
Even his famed "Para-sight" was a let down though I'd given up really paying attention long b4 then and was reading the L&L Catallogue

Overall
Well you can't say that L&L are using false advertising here... It says Nothing on the Tin & there is Nothing inside
I'm glad I watched this at a friend's house & didn't waste the money.
Rather spend your money on some of Banachek or Richard Osterlind's material...

Nothing

I find it hard to believe that it is that bad given his status as a performer and the time and energy that went into its production, as well as the endorsements that accompanied its release.

Perhaps your review could outline the contents, the effects, and good points and the bad points?

Part-timer's review is certainly superior as a review, Mandy - more detailed, better structure, etc. However, I have heard people who are established fans of the man with Ray Reardon's hair say they were surprised and comprehensively disappointed with this product. I've heard others speak positively about it too, though, it must be said. But, I reckon, it is one that 'divides opinion' quite sharply, and being very enthusiastic about his stuff up to now doesn't necessarily indicate which side of the line you're going to find yourself on.

Oh, for clarity, I haven’t seen it myself, so I can’t make any personal comments either way (and I have, generally, a high opinion of the Mav's previous work).
