Richard Osterlind: Breakthrough Card System

Postby kingkongkyle1 » Jan 12th, '07, 21:51

Book's name:
Richard Osterlind's Break through card system

Effect:
Some one selects a card then puts it any where in the deck they then immediatly shuffle the deck then hand it back to you you then find there card instantly!

Cost:
It costs £17 which is defiantly worth it although it's a book.

Difficulty:
I give it a 4=Advanced sleights used

Review:
I think it's brillint as you are completely clean and do not need anything part from cards.Just to prove that it's not a marked deck you can let them keep the deck as a souveneir. The only thing you need to be good at is maths but you would soon get used to it. (Sample removed by Mods - close to exposure, sorry)
Overall i would give it 8/10

It's always good to follow the Review Template and the Review Guidlines - as it is there is no indication what the book is called, where you can purchase it and how much it costs, and no real evaluation of the product itself (which has been reviewed before), which is understandable I guess seeing as you've only had it a day.

It's great that you want to review items, but it's always best to follow the guidlines so as to be as detailed and thorough as possible .

You forgot the books name. I assume that it's Breakthrough Card System.

Would you mind not stealing someone's visual TM identity while you're at it? That picture you're using; it belongs to someone else.

Well, I saw a couple of posts on TM about Richard Osterlind's system, (one by seige so I thought it had to be good!) and so I bought the booklet.

What a brilliant idea/system this is, examinable, faultless (if you can remember the system - I found it easy; but then I can do binary and subnetting - sad to admit, I know!!), and when you do it right it can look like you can either remember the order of a deck, do real magic, or read minds.

When I performed one of the routines in the booklet people were astonished.

Of course the downside is that it isn't impromptu, and you have to prepare it, but other than that the effect can be very strong.

I got mine from Top Secret Magic (£14 +p&p), service from them was very good.

9/10.

As much as I hate using cards in mentalism, the BCS is just too good to pass up. This never fails to get the greatest reactions and it is so darn simple to do.

Every mentalist and magician should own this.
