Sounds interesting but I am not a huge fan of having to switch decks to get to this trick or to move on with the rest of my routine after doing this trick.

I cannot stress these words enough:

"IF YOU CAN AFFORD THIS TRICK THEN BUY IT"

As soon as you see the effect this trick has you'l understand why.

I would just like to leave a few comments on this trick if I may.

It has been on my list for a long time now, ever since I saw it demonstrated for me, and I must say that I am very very impressed. The trick is really just amazing. I agree with what has been said about the presentation that comes with the trick, but it is very easy to personalise it.

No one should really worry about switching decks. You can show all the faces to a certain extent and the spectator handles the deck, they see the backs and fronts of the cards. The idea of gimmickry, in the spectators mind, is inconceivable.

I highly recommend this trick. As Magic_Evmeister has said, if you can afford it then buy it. Knock 'Em Dead is a very clever trick with masses of potential.

I would rate it a 9/10.
Almost perfect, repeatability lets it down. While it is repeatable, I would not advise it, although you could also use this to your advantage if you're clever :D

I would say it is "sort of" repeatable.

I think this is probably one of my favourite packet tricks actually. Get it!

oh yes, this is a great effect and does knock em dead, only thing is i got caught out on this one as a spec didn't say stop after quite a while. for people who have thius you can see where it went ear shaped. only happened the once tho and i covered the flaw by using some cold reading material for the card that was accidently picked.

all those that believe in telekinesis raise my right hand!!!

Does what it says on the tin. I must admit I now look at the effect and wonder if it is as good as I remember, but I still recall when I had it demoed to me and bought it 2 minutes later. Blew me away. (Hmmm I might just have to dig it out again, box is a bit dog eared but that can be changed...)

Must be a few years old now???

What do you think of the Excalibur Deck by Devin Knight: www.magies.com/catalogpro/magie/tour/ca ... 3568&lg=fr
It looks like pretty much to be the same thing

No it isn''t. With Excalibur you can't deal the cards face up.

My opinion is that Knock Em Dead is a stronger effect, because the added subtlety of dealing the cards face up adds more power to the effect.

If you like effects of this kind, I also recommend The Grail by Mike Rose. There is a thread on this forum about the effect which I recently "revived". Definitely worth checking out.

I've concluded that the Approved Items For Sale is as culpable a culprit as the Reviews section, in which there are admittedly some good value items (Magic Bunny has some good deals on too) on offer, although there are one or two items I've seen in the past that are actually more expensive than the RRP for items brand new online (won't mention any names!).

Rather than risk digressing, however, my obssession with purchasing magic can be illustrated with the discussion of this effect. By chance, I innocently perused some items on offer in the Items For Sale and came across Knock Em Dead and, with robotic impulse, Googled and Ebayed abnd Youtubed said item so as to obtain a description and get a flavour of performance. Unfortuantely I was late in responding and said item had already been passed on.

Accordingly, now that that "must have, must have" mentality has been instilled, there remains an insatiable desire to purchase said item. Whilst this is not phishing for info, dependant on the reply, there is still possible appeasement in concluding that the effect is in fact unsuitable.

I am therefore asking owners of Knock Em Dead to respond as to whether or not the matching revelation of the odd back card and spectator's selection is in fact always the same revelation, or whether you can change it. Of course, it's academic in the sense that in reality I probably wouldn't repeat it to the same group but, as with Bigger Finish by Sankey, if there are other specs who previously witnessed the miracle, then they would perhaps be stroking their beards in suspcion. Is the revelation different?

I got this trick this week
I got two questions/problems with this trick
I hope someone willing to share the tips with me by PM me

1) how do you give the excuse to tell the spectator that the actual card they stopped should be the next/previous card when they dealing the card by themselves ( you will know what i mean if you own this trick)

2) how do you stop the audience trying to stop the first 5 cards or last 8 cards??? you know, few of the cunning audience actually try to stop on the first card....jesus....

1) "If you could please take a look at the card you stopped on" with a gesture to the next (undealt) card makes perfect sense... treat the dealt pile as cards your participant has discarded to get to this one. Worse comes to the worst and they don't want to budge, top change or DL!

2) Have them deal cards face-up, one at a time. By the time you finish your instruction with "and wherever you like, just stop dealing" they will have dealt through the first few cards. It's a common ruse.

Probably your timing is the best bet here.

Spectator starts dealing cards - you say after 5 "and you can stop dealing anytime you want to....."

Spectator continues dealing - "When I said you could stop dealing, I meant sometime today" or some similar joke

Worst case scenario, spec deals until at the top of the deck. My own particular insurance policy/get outa jail free item is the ID. If spectator deals to a card I haven't anticipated, just produce the ID and say "Funny thing, that, I had a premonition that you'd stop there........." and carry on with the revelation
