Puff - Lawrence Turner

Postby kems » Jan 19th, '07, 22:32

The effect:
a puff of smoke is produced at will by the magician, even mid conversation!

The Cost:
£8 Direct from TM's Lawrence Turner

Difficulty

1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights involved, 4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only.

2 (easy when you know how!)

Review:
Lawrence told me about this and I couldn't wait to get it, I was a little skeptical when he told me the method but it works really well!
you really can produce smoke mid conversation etc. there is no visible setup directly prior to the 'puff' and its real smoke!
What you get with the PDF is the excellent method and a number of great routines "the unlit lit cig", "the hot chilli"(a very funny trick!) and the "smoke card change"

Overall:
This is a great method for producing smoke and i can see myself using this quite abit.

9/10

i know this is a touch late, but here's a video of it not quite showing the routines you get in the PDF, just the basic effect

Impressive. Though, in this Ellusionist age, shouldn't you really call it 'Dragon!' or 'Ectoplasm Plus' or something, rather than 'Puff'? Chill to the beat of the streets, L.

Conform? Conform!? my punk albums tell me otherwise.
nah, i just have a thing against that form of ellusionist branding really. plus when this was in creation is was a bit of a joke really and the name "lawrene turner - puff!" came out somewhere, and hilarity followed, so it had to stay.

Maybe i could massively over hype the GLS-vanish though, come up with a hip name like "FuSiOn" (spelt with capitalitis of course), do a video with lots of camera cutting and shakey work, with no real routine to it...
i could be on to a winner!

Imagine the E hype for the production deck....

You stand on the downtown street corner that is your urban stage. The OGs from the next block burn your every move with their suspicious eyes as you riffle through an ordinary everyday pack of Black Viper Spectre Bicycle cards.

"Aight stop!" calls G Fresh, the don mega mac daddy who leads your deadly spectators. You reach into the deck at the exact point you stopped at. The tension builds. Itchy fingers stroke triggers.

Slowly.

Clearly.

VISUALLY.

You pull a bowling ball from the deck. G Fresh exclaims in disbelief, the hoodrats bow before you, someone fires a celebratory burst into the air from their AK.

No strings.

No wires.

No threads.

No fishgut loops.

No magnets.

No gimmicks (only gaffs)

Only you and your ReVelator deck.

$29.99

(bowling ball production only possible with jumbo ReVelator, $39.99)

The artist who does not rise, descends.

Ha! It's so true... We should start a thread dedicated to 'over-hyping' regular effects!
Anyone with me?

copyright a trick? oooo, a few issues can come up from that! but good luck

we are going somewhat off topic here people. and on that note i'd like to announce that sales of Puff! are being put on hold until i hear back from some people about a couple of issues with it, but it'll all be right I'm assured.
