Thanks for the review! I also ordered this from a friend and just waiting till he heads back home. The waiting part is killing me!

To be frank, I had never tried...I mean, NEVER tried a rope trick before and this would definitely change things. The demo itself is eye popping.

Got this and a great DVD it is too!
Also, if you already have a rope routine are wish to add some new phases to it, it's perfect, as each 'mini-effect' will fit into multiple rope routines.
Thanks,

Crowd Pleaser

Postby The Great Robispa » Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:20 pm

I bought this trick thinking that i could do with a rope routine to use every now & again, in between some of my greater tricks. How wrong was i?! This is now one of my main tricks that really pleases the crowd. Great DVD instructions, very easy to learn & the visual routine will even fool yourself. Most rope magic requires nimble fingers but beleive me i haven't got those & can perform the whole routine in one smooth rhythmatic flow. I sometimes perform the routine without speaking a word & it looks lovely. Everybody loves this trick & so will you.....BUY BUY

It's taken me 5 months to get around to watching the new Extended version but here goes:

All the original material plus 5 new routines and a bunch of 'new' moves including:

Polygripped (put the 'ends' in your mouth and they visibly melt into the longer piece)
Standard Stretch (this is the move I learned when I first learned the Professors Nightmare many years ago)
Tie One On (from the endless loop you tie the 'ends on to become 1 rope)
Quick Switch (the ends & the middle swap places simultaneously)
Sliding Knot (The 3 ropes become 2 and you tie a knot on which then slides up & down the ropes and then the spectator unties the knot to show 2 ropes again)
Astro Knot - (a move by Flip where, from the endless loop a knot appears in the rope)
Finger Cut (no explanation needed !)
Hyper Ring (ring on rope routine)

My comments:

Fabulous ! I did 'waste' money by buying the original version as I now have both. If you want to buy this for the first time then just buy the extended version.

All the new moves are great but to be honest I will only use one of them (Tie One on) in the routine I do (as a replacement for another move) as I already had to cut the routine down in real life performance as I noticed the audience switched off after a time.

The danger is that all the original and new moves are so good you just want to use them all !

There is enough material here to come up with endless different routines. Treat it as a rope workshop/tutorial, learn all the moves and come up with your own routines.

The only negative comment is that the 'extras' section on the DVD is a waste of time. I expected something magical but it is just Richard Sanders eating a muffin ! Not sure why he included it other than having a warped sense of humour.

My rating: 11/10 :D

Warped sense of humor is right!

I worked with Richard on his stand at Blackpool for a bit and he is not only a great magician with great commercial material but he is also a really great guy, buy all of his material, it is all great.

I had a car crash with a magician the other day,

It wasn't my fault he came out of nowhere!

Great routine but - everyone is doing it now!

I recommend that you learn it, and learn it well and THEN, play around with it to put your own personal slant on the routine.

That way you'll have something that's different from everyone else.

Good luck.

I've had this DVD nearly a week now and I love it. This would also make great magic for beginners because the moves are not difficult to learn and result in great visual effects.
