Here is the review off the trickshop website Dr Todd mentioned Eddie Joseph’s Premonition is considered by many to be one of the most amazing feats of Card Mentalism ever conceived. Here's the effect. ANYONE in the audience is asked to name ANY card. The person naming the card is asked to come forward and pick up the deck of cards on your table. This person now removes the deck from its case and deals out every card in the pack but fails to find the one he named. He is now told to count the cards and finds only 51. ONE CARD IS MISSING AND THE MISSING CARD IS THE ONE JUST NAMED ALOUD. The magician reaches into his pocket and without the slightest delay brings out the very card named by the spectator. At no time does the magician touch the deck. There is no force of choice. This miracle works 100 percent of the time - the element of chance plays no part. Use your own cards.

Sounds very similar and a fraction of the price. Just about to order it.

i was highly disappointed in this trick, to be honest, firstly, and mainly, in the cards... i know the card(s) are only on show for a second or two, as they cant really be handed out, but the quality of them is terrible, the bike alternative cant cost more than £5 to have made, why not use them? the printing on these is rubbish! they look tacky, to be honest.

secondly, the dvd... this seems to have been made in the pub where his performance demo's were shot the amount of background noise you can hear when Marc's giving you the instructions is less than professional, and somewhat off putting. YES, i know there will most likely be background noise when we perform magic, but there's no need for it on an instructional DVD.

to be honest, i wouldnt recomend Bang On, UNLESS your willing: to have bulky gimmicks is your blazer pocket; you must always wear some sort of jacket when performing this. and you dont mind 'not handing the cards out' (i dont get why people say this is so clean...??)...

if only people took as much care in names as they do in revealing someone else's effect eh!

EDIT: by the way, im not saying to you your name is spelt incorrectly, but ghurka is the correct spelling of...well, a ghurka, as in a Khukri...but you are naturally free to spell your name however you wish... :)

I had a dream and my in my dream I was stanging behind Marc Oberon, being the sneaky devil I am.. and I saw something the audience didnt see.. and part of the method was exposed.. not all of it.. just a small part..

nonetheless I know a little part of how this works now.. I trust my dreams.. and I really must say.. the method is genius and quite clever.

I dont think this will fit my performance style and Ive become quite attached to the Horwitz wallet, but it certainly a greta effect and one whose method is extraordionary..

If the method does differ to my dream.. then I may have a product on my hands that I can workshop and release l!! :D

bangon etc

Postby slewis » May 12th, '07, 21:05

There's been a lot of discussion about the problem caused by magicians trying to learn the working of the effect before buying it. But it seems that most of the time when we buy apparatus in the three-figure range (American), we are paying for workmanship, not secrets. That is, no one buys a die box or linking rings without knowing how they work. We know how they work--we need the workmanship of the manufacturer. And I'm sure this is even more true of illusionists. Bangon, in particular, is a case in point. Apparently, the wallet is rather bulky, so some magicians won't be able to use it. I guess this is an argument for patronizing live magic shops when possible.

th bulkiness i find, isnt much of a problem, as the jacket i usually wear for performances is quite baggy, so it doesnt really show... the total thickness of it though, unrestricted, ie without an elastic band is very close to 6cm... as i said, i dont find it bulky, i just find it takes up valuable pocket space, i AM a smoker, after all... my main disappointment is the (lack of) quality in the cards themselves... when i have some time, ill be making a bike version of the cards... ooo... maybe even a black tiger, now that WOULD be snazzy!

But... you can perform this effect just wearing jeans and a t-shirt. And still have room in pockets for TTs, decks of cards, etc.
