Got this through this morning.

So so clever. Everything I hoped it would be and more. Smart, easy, practical. And very flexible, its easily adapted to suit your performing style too. the props are perhaps a little too big for walk around magic, but can be adapted I guess. these are just my initial thoughts.

The document is well written and everything is covered in detail, just a case of many days of practice now.

solid 9/10 for me

hehe

Dude.. Im not selling this.. NO WAY!!

And Im over cups.. i really am.. honest  No really I am.. I have all the material I desire to create some honest to goodness beautiful routines.

A manager at work knows some people that own bars, quiet but busy bars. He is friends with them and is going to hook me up with a couple of meetings in a month or so. I am going to do some magic as an 'ineterview' and then offer one cut price night to show them I can be good for them.. then raise the stakes and hppefully land myself a few nights a week doing walkaround over the summer!! :D Good starting point I feel

Ahh....but I've been studying-up on written psychological cues; the prompt is already implanted, and you have no way of resisting; it shall be mine - oh yes

Sounds very promising indeed bud - I hope it goes well for you; keep us all in touch with how you get on?

Oh - and I'll send you that cash for the Paint Surprise by PayPal, if that's okay? It's such a shame that the novelty wore off so quickly, for you

Santa will be bringing me this effect for Christmas and I'm wondering if any of you could tell me how well it plays in a stage setting. I would really like to be able to use a sketchpad with a large sheet of paper, which would be sitting on an easel. But, it would obviously be overkill to produce a tiny ring from a huge sheet of paper...

Also, part of the effect's description states the following:

You then fold the card into quarters and show it COMPLETELY FLAT. Suddenly the card begins to swell as though something is inside.

What do they mean by "swell" exactly? Does a circular form swell up through the index card like the form of the ring, etc?

Personally I think that it plays better in a parlour/stage setting than close up and in this case the card swelling up won't be an issue as you'll most likely look to do the reveal in a different way.

You get a number of small pieces of card on which you raw a ring and then fold the card. The card 'swelling' is an illusion created to give the efect that the drawing has changed into the 'real' ring.

Hope this helps without giving anythng sensitive away.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hey, thanks, Dat! How would this work with my idea of using a large sketchpad on an easel and painting a large ring, with regards to how the paint ring vanishes from the index card? Is there a switch involved? If not, how do you think it would play if the paint ring visually vanished?

Once you get it at Xmas you'll be able to work out what YOU want to do  .

A sketchpad and easel should provide one way of making the ring re-appear but it's limited by your imagination.
