P.K. Rings

I use a piece of broken ring to reset coin unique in my pocket - perhaps others can give me tips on other ideas.

I tried searching, but couldn't pin it down.

The G2 will be released with 5 additional sizes over the next couple of weeks.

The same has happened to me too. The metal must be very poor quality.
I can't wear cheapo rings for long as they irritate my fingers, only stainless steel, silver and gold are ok.
The coating on mine has started to peel too and I haven't had it that long.
It certainly comes in useful, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired.

5 More? I bought one of these in the wrong size and its too big. :(

I also ordered two by mistake...this just gets worse and worse...

On top of it all - I didn't really like the ring that much. I don't think it would fit into the kind of mentalism stuff i do but i think it was just a case of CUPS setting in

Solitary confinement for me i think.

I smashed my second G2 last night performing an effect. It's all my own fault as I get taken in the moment and smash my hand down on a table as hard as I can......bu**er.
I should really learn to use the other hand.

Postby willdeanda » Apr 17th, '07, 07:11

I ordered from .unitednuclear. size 8 but I have been waiting for 2 1/2 wks. I just got delivery comfirmation today in my email and I hope to see it tommorrow since it is only going 400 miles...fingers crossed i'll repost a review when I get mine. Not a G2 but I hope It doesnt rust like my G1 did  . I still have that one but it is to "fat" and looks kinda dumb on my finger if you look closer.

G2 response

Postby willdeanda » Apr 20th, '07, 00:52

Note from moderators: THIS RING IS NOT THE WIZARD G2 RING. THE RING BEING TALKED ABOUT HERE IS A STANDARD MAGNETISED RING. For information on the G2 ring visit www.wizardpkring.co.uk

I just got my ring from unitednuclear.com but it took about 2 1/2 weeks to get it from them. :( on the plus side they have size 5-12. I ordered size 8 and it fit perfect. If you are not in a rush then this is an okay company.

Style: 9 This ring in silver looks very nice not like the G1's which I thought looked dumb ( I own both :D ). It is a band but will in no way stand out.

Power: 6 The ring in comparison is not very much stronger than the G1. But will still get the job done. I think the bigger the ring the more power you'll have... or somthin like that.

Overall: 7 If you like the Usual effects with a pk ring without the odd looking ring then this is a good choice but remember small ring = less power. anything smaller than 9 will prob be as good.
I have G1 size 9 and G2 size 8 they are about the same but I am starting to think my size 9 is stronger.

Postscript from Mods: DO NOT confuse brand names on here. G1 and G2 Wizard PK rings are BRAND names of WorldMagicShop/Wizard and their quality is entirely different. They will be sold AS Wizard PK G2 Rings, and as nothing else. UnitedNuclear is not affilliated with Wizard/WorldMagicShop OR the G2 or G1 ring

Wizard ring

Postby willdeanda » Apr 20th, '07, 15:13

Sorry about that, You are correct the ring I got is not a G2 ring but I do own the Wizard G1 and then ordered the generic version of the other ring. I still stick by my opinion having seen the "real" G2 in my local shop. I did not mean to misrepresent said item. I meant to clarify but i guess I didn't, sorry  . Honestly I went with a diff brand because my wizard ring severly rusted on the inside. I hope this doesn't happen with my new "band" style ring. I lost faith in wizard till they make a ring that wont rust with less than a months wear. Happy buying!!

Yes, I would advise anyone to look elsewhere as the Wizard ring rusts to hell and bits of rust are a pain to get off the ring as they're magnetic too!

It's well presented, in it's nice little box and everything, but the quality of it is apalling. Really shoddy and if you have an allergy to cheap and nasty metals (as I do) wearing one is an incredibly painful experience.

I'm going to invest in another PK ring and it certainly won't be a Wizard one. They do replace them, but charge you for doing so, a bit like those photocopier repair contracts where they know it's inevitable the equipment is going to go wrong and are guarranteed regular profit from you.

Good for a month or so, but there it's a very short-lived item.

Freddie, have you had experience of another ring? Maybe they're all like that with you?
I've honestly had no trouble with my G2 and I wear it most of the time. It's suffered quite a bit of abuse as well, but I do have very dry hands and no allergies.

Not tried another PK ring, but cheap jewellery in general makes my fingers itch and then weep. Horrid. Stainless steel is ok, but the PK ring had the worst reaction I have ever had and the inside is rusting to buggery.
At least, knowing that I cannot wear cheap jewellery, I feel safe that I could never be a chav!

The effects with the Wizard ring I was happy with, but the quality of the materials used are so shoddy that it must be made of the same stuff that these 50p fancy fress type rings you see in toy shops are made of.

I definitley want to get another PK ring as I use it a lot, it's just this has put me off any Wizard products for life. They replace them for a fiver, but I would rather buy one that won't need replacing after a couple of months.
If I replaced the Wizard one once it rusted and the coating started flaking off, I would be doing this every couple of months, so's I may as well buy a decent quality one which will last rather than these 'pay as you go' top-up rings that Wizard peddle.

These things will happen to an amateur, you will learn in time.
You should always practice first.
