The Effect
http://www.kevinparkerproductions.com/descent.html
This is a visual coin-through-glass that does not require magnets, wires, strings, threads, special coins, or special tables. The magician borrows a coin, drops it in the middle of the table, and pushes it through, the coin visibly landing in his empty hand underneath the table. The coin can even be signed, and the coin, with signature on it, is clearly seen in the magician's hand after it falls through the table. With just your bare hands and a coin, you are achieving this.
- Use any kind of coin
- Different objects can be used; candy, paperclips, etc.
- Easy to perform

Review
After watching the demo video of Descent on Kevin’s site I just had to get this. The effect is super smooth, visual and quick. The spectator really sees the coin pass through the glass.
Just like all of Kevin’s tricks, the key here is simple but effective. The method is very clever and I admit that I had no idea how to do it even after watching the demo multiple times. Even better it’s very simple to perform and doesn’t require an elaborate set-up. You can have this ready to go in under a second basically. The trick requires an extra “thing” but it is easily available from many different places and I expect many of you already have some.
The reactions you get with this varies from silent astonishment to lots of shouting, depending on your spectator, but you always get a good reaction. I bought this yesterday and have performed it three or four times already and have gotten a great reaction each time. Also no one has even come close to figuring out the method.
The effect itself is very impressive and deserves a 10/10 in my view. The only negative I have is that the quality of the DVD isn’t great. It’s good enough and doesn’t really matter but I think Kevin could’ve invested some more time and money into improving the quality of the DVD just to make it look even better.
Overall
10/10 for the effect, 9/10 overall due to the video quality.
