I only saw Paul's show once and it made an idelible impression on me. I saw Barry's show many times yet I only vaguely remember bits of it here and there. If had known that I was going to be doing stage hypnosis myself I would have paid more attention. By the time I had decided to do stage hypnosis I had left for Canada. On the other hand by not paying much attention no Barry's show it was probably a good thing. I was forced to develop my own style and way of working. Copying someone else is never a good thing. I would rather be a first rate Mark Lewis than a second rate Barry Sinclair so in that sense I suppose I am quite pleased that I don't remember much of Barry's show.

One thing I do remember is that Barry did a lot of magic in his show and I was daft enough at one point to wonder if it was a good thing. I somehow thought it would affect his credibility. However I now realise that I was talking nonsense and doing magic can help the show and I do some myself. I do know that other hypnotists don't agree with this but of course that is up to them. I know it works and in fact helps the induction of "hypnosis" as well as gives the people a better show.

I am a big fan of Ormond Mc'Gill and his books. He actually wrote two and the latest encyclopedia is a mixture of those two books with some extra material. I know many people think his ideas and material are dated. I don't find them so at all.

I did come across a video of Ormond doing a show when he was a very old man. It certainly wouldn't be called particularly entertaining and the show itself was quite lukewarm. However from a learning point of view the tape was fantastic. Some incredible speech patterns and techniques of inducing what is called hypnosis.

Although the show was c*** (not the best) it is one of the most valuable tapes I own.
