Just wondering what peoples opinion of him were, i love him, i incidently thought id try his 3 diamonds trick on some people after re-watching an old trick of the mind, bear in mind i have NO knowledgs of mentalism beyond the basic idea of what it is, both these people picked the four of diamonds, im still smiling because of it, and that was three days ago

A very talented individual. I was constantly reminded of him when I went to watch the Illusionist. I think it was the suits and the stage and the style.
I read one of his books recently and found it very interesting....

He doesn't really give any tricks away but he discusses the psychology behind his magic and presentation. That sort of thing.

Cool, does anyone know where a good starting point would be for this sort of thing, i.e Derren Brown style psychological trickery

The best thing you can do is watch some clips of him (although you won't learn anything) and, if you're inclined to do so, buy his book 'Tricks of the Mind' from amazon(or ebay).
If you like it then it might be worth forking out the howevermuch they're worth now and getting one off ebay(Pure Effect, that is) bu be warned: It's no use unless you're experienced and even then, it's not simply a book of tricks.
Hope that helps.

Just thought I'd add... There are LOADS of ebooks and stuff all claiming to teach you all of his methods for 99p or whatever on ebay and other sites. Don't be fooled, they won't.
I don't think anyone will be able to work out how a few of the things he does on his new tour does. That's my new challenge to everyone here; can you work it out?!?
