Many young magicians just starting out get trapped into Ellusionist. They somehow make subliminal hype for products such as Revolution, which is a true rip-off. However, Ellusionist's Bicycle decks are beautiful. I have owned a few Ghosts and a Tiger in the past. But I agree about Christian; he is quite amateurish compared to, say, Juan Tamariz, Paul Harris, Jay Sankey, Michael Ammar, or Michael Weber. But then again... the decks make everything right. :)

yes the decks are cool and they have pretty nice shipping and ordering (very fast) which can help make it easier to give into CUPS

i just ordered hovercard even though i could of probably saved some bucks and bought the gimmick, and then made my own, or then looked it up online etc. etc.

I just figured might as well review all the material as I am a n00b also so maybe I'll pick up a lot better things rather than just considering myself a genius for copying a gimmick. presentation is almost everything it seems from this effect (if you just walked up to someone and did it they would probably not even think it was that great)

anyways i think ellusionist really is geared torwards a lot of new magicians so maybe it's not so bad that it's got some intro-level tricks that they're selling. of course it's marked up more than we think it should be, because we're the consumer! haha

one thing I hate about e is the forums, you can't say any internet slang (WTF is wrong with LOL??) and you can't say the names of any other magic stores , for example penguin magic would come out as ******* magic.

this kind of c*** (not the best) makes me never want to join their forum, but I do like the decks, and I did order some of their DVDs just to pick up some performance tips and some cool new tricks.

LOL I do appreciate the irony

i always thought when I saw c*** it was abbreviated for a very foul term usually applied to those of the fairer sex.

turns out c*** could also mean fecal-resembling products or business practices!

well I'm a new member, live and learn. 8)

I just got hovercard the other day, haven't had a chance to see what hte DVD has to offer but the gimmick was well made, easy enough to figure out so you can make more, and the effect... AWESOME! hehe

it really is nice having such a direct control link to the hovering card, it makes for a more convincing hover than with an IT or mag lev or whatever, in my opinion.

anyways it's a "cheap trick" and I would recommend it.

yeh ive got this effect, havent used it much though to be honest  its well made but yeh the gimmick can be made at home, great effect though and its not too difficult the most important thing is the patter and presentation, as pointed out before its not impressive to just walk up to someone and do it lol

Brad Christian, for those who don't know, is Ellusionist.com's Founder, and one of the greatest magician/teacher I've seen so far.

Daniel Garcia and Luke Jermay step on, spit on, and sit on Brad's face.
