The Blurb
LISTEN UP, SUCKER! This is one of the oldest cons in American history. Sal Piacente (the HITMAN of Magic) stars in this in-your-face DVD on the THREE SHELL GAME. You'll learn the game, the moves and the psycology behind one of Magic's favourite close-up routines and one of the most dangerous games on the street...Knowledge is Power!

What I Say
Sal goes into great depth on this DVD. He breifly explains the history of the game, after a close-up performance of his routine, in the studio and on spectators. His explanations aren't at all long, but they don't need to be, as he goes into great detail on how to perfrom every aspect of the game. You learn all the moves to pull off this effect, and Sal's routine.

On the reverse of the DVD it states that you will also learn the three shell game with caps and under a glass-however, this was not on the DVD for some reason :? which i was quite annoyed by after spending £22 on it!

Well, I do have to moan about a couple of things :P. The DVD and teaching itself is great. No problems. However, I feel it would have been better if shells were included with the DVD, because now i have to go out and buy shells, and the fact that the bonus features wern't there is also annoying. But no BIG issues really.

It's a good buy :)

8/10[/b]

Mikey - I agree. It's a good buy and a really fun effect/routine. Also, on the plus side, it's not a difficult one to learn, so you can be performing relatively quickly with just the basic moves.

In terms of deatil, Sal really goes in-depth with the explanations and the timin and the patter. I have thoroughly enjoyed this DVD. But I agree: I was a little miffed that the promised explanation on the back wasn't covered.

Overall, I would say it's worth the money just for the level of entertainment you can provide once you practice a bit. I performed the flash move (no naughty pun intended  ) for my wife only about 30 minutes after watching the video, and I got away with it free and clear.

I would rank it about 8/5 out of 10. I take a little away because I find the whole mafia-type persona a bit on the cheesy side, and there was that mentioning that was never taught. BUT, what is taught is really great!!

I like this dvd, taught me a fair amount. And it does have the bottle caps and glass on there...in the special feature section...on the next page :P

Very nice entertainment it is too!

:)

hello mikey, how come yours didn't come with the shells and pea?

I got mine from alakazam, and the DVD came with the shells and pea in the plastic wrapping, its the same shell and pea from vernet..

Well, i had bought the shells and pea few days earlier at davenport as a result of CUPS purchase with the teaching booklet as well... but i prefered learning from dvds so i bought this dvd and was surprised it came with shell and pea, otherwise i wouldn't hv bought the booklet and shells earliear....

i had the same views as you guys on the dvd, i give it a 8/10 as well!
For those new to shell and pea i highly recomend this for a starter.

Street thug shell game

Postby Amanda Angeli » Oct 25th, '07, 21:29

Hello Everyone,

So, I totally loved this dvd also. I just adore the game. And, I really liked Sal's character, having known a few boys just like him, real gang-banger types.

I loved the setting he did the show in, it really made it fun, the music was great, and, well, it's just awesome.

Interestingly, mine came with a wonderful set of brass shells and two rubber peas. Of course, that's because the magic store owner gave them to me for some reason, maybe I smiled or something. It was either that or my t-shirt saying "Detroit, where the weak are killed and eaten."

If you like gambling magic and you want a fun dvd, buy this. Or go into an alley and take it from some punk. Oh, and if you want some free shells and peas, wear the right kind of shirt, it can't hurt.

Love,

Amanda Angeli
