XCM DVDs?

Postby resilientarmadillo » May 5th, '07, 01:26

Hey,

I want to learn a little XCM to add to existing magic routines but also to build my general handling and confidence with cards. I wouldn't say I'm an expert card magician, and I limit my flourishes to a bit of fanning and springing currently.

I'm considering buying de'vo's Xtreme Beginners - is it worth the extraordinarily high cost price? is there anything better than this for beginning XCM?

There are two XCM DVD tutorials that seem to be recommended most one being the Xtreme beginners you have mentioned and the other being show off with cards.
Both are quite comprehensive guides into this field although I am far far away from an XCM'er.....dude...awesome....rad

XCM

Postby jache » May 9th, '07, 16:10

Hey, I was looking for some XCM stuff too, came across one guy by accident, he had a promotional thing on you tube, looks pretty good, went on a link to the site, econjurer.com think it's got tutorial downloads, if anyone finds anything else for XCM downloads can you post it on here
Note from mods: As mentioned below, we don’t go in for such things here so please don’t wait for folks to post details of more freebies. It will be a very long wait.

I would get Xtreme Beginnerz as a starting point... covers the basis in good detail and with expert tuition coupled with a kickass soundtrack.

The get showoff with cards by Brian Tudor. Boring as you can get but, stick with it to learn the revolution cut, What the hell happened to sybil cut and bad habit.

Then treat yourself to Dan and Daves the system where you will learn how the big boys flourish!!

If after this you think you stand some more min-numbing tuition from Tudor, get his Generation Xtreme.. as boring as he is.. hes a bloody card sharp!!

Jache.. not a good way to start out. We.. well, TM, well.. we, erm.. us magicians do not condone free advertising or pootube exposure.

youtube tutorials are NOT the way to go!! expect your post be deleted soon..

If you really want to learn, learn from books and DVDs.. ie: buy it!!

Totally agree, dan and daves a good move, can't beat them, Kevin Parker too. Don't write things like that off too soon if your just starting out, if it just a kid trying to make it big dont give it the time of day, but if they got a link to a website check it out... you tend to find real gems in the places you wouldn't expect

and those ''gems'' are usually someone else gems who have worked hard to put out material so they can make a living only for someone else to give that information away for free..

It IS exposure and no one here goes for that, and WILL write it off as there are better ways of learning.. ie: the RIGHT way..

So please dont persist in trying to persuade people to look into unethical ways as there are very very few people here like that.

One more point: DAN and DAVE is not a move, It is a they, and THEY are twins.. Kevin parker is also not a move, he is a magician.. and is not an XCM'er..

unless you meant Dan and Dave is a good move to make and buy their DVD.. in which case I apologise :P

Showoff with Cards is by Magic Makers. Brian Tudor's VHS is called Showoff. I do NOT recommend Showoff with cards because of its incorrect teaching methods and the inability to credit creators of flourishes. The Charlier cut using the middle finger?! OUCH!

REVIEW: Econjurer.com Fallen XCM Download

Postby jgunnickels » May 18th, '07, 11:37

The video boast 19 brand-new flourishes.

Cost: $17.50 - £ 8.50

Difficulty: the level of difficulty ranges from super easy to the aerials which I feel need a lot of practice... but once you get them down you will leave anyone watching with a head ache for sure.

Well if you haven't seen the Demo go check it out and see what you think I liked it, I wasn't blown away when I first saw it but the more I watched the more i wanted to get it, like i said the video has 19 flourishes on it, of which id say 14 are brand new concepts the others are reworkings of Classic flourish's and the likes... the best parts of the video are the aerials, in my eyes the rest of the video need not exist but for aerials all I can say is intense, he's mixing crazy 360 flips with Sybil's with great fluidity. if your looking for some new cuts then this vid has got some gems like Nan.0, SP.172, Exodus II, and Intent...

This video is very cost effective I live in the UK so my copy only cost £8.00 for that price you cant go wrong even if you don't like some of the cuts!

Overall: I would recommend this if your on a budget or you just want to learn some crazy aerials, but if your in a hurry to learn new XCM then id recommend Dan Dave The System first, Devo then hitting this video, it was a good watch and I gleamed a few good cuts from it...

but i didnt feel cheated because they have done a good job of evening it out because it only costs £8.00 for that price you can afford to have some dogdy cuts!

Hope it Helps J.Nickels

That looks like the most dodgiest Card Manipulation product available.
Not only does it contain useless variations that a chimp could create, I bet it doesn't credit the original makers of the material.
Besides, its just a kid, Deja vu' with this whole X-Levitation thing?

If you want to learn card flourishes/manipulation, get Showoff 1 or 2 by Brian Tudor, or Xtreme Beginners by De'vo.
No question.
