Slydini also inspired me massively, in my teen age years (a while ago now I can tell you). My father took me to Ron Macmillan's International Day of Magic in London in about 1977/78 (I think it was) and I was fortunate enough to attend a close-up lecture by this great man... I remember a homing paper ball routine vividly and also his incredible 'coins through table' routine. This was truly astonishing, the magic simply danced in Slydini's hands, as elegant as it was baffling.. He was gentle, polished and to this day the strongest close-up man I have ever witnessed. Some years later I bought his book 'The magic of Slydini' which has pride of place in my magic library.
