Evacuation – By Chris Beard

The Effect

The spectator is asked to select a card from a normal deck of 52 cards and is asked to sign the selected card by the magician. Once the card has been signed the magician then proceeds to visually rub the card through the glass window and peel it off the other side, without any funny movements whatsoever. Think “Kaos” and “Edge” combining forces in the ultimate CTW.

Cost

£18

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

I would give Evacuation a 2-3 for difficulty.

Although the trick does involve some sleights they are all fairly simple and easy to complete. This along with thorough instructions and performance tips all combine to make “Evacuation” package a cracker.

Review

Like most of you as soon as I watched Chris’s demo for Evacuation I was totally blown away. The clearness and smoothness of the card actually penetrating through the glass separates this CTW from any other.

Although Evacuation is a gimmicked card through window effect, you are left completely clean after it has been performed. The gimmicks can be worn all day and are pretty much ready to use when you are not taking and space up in pockets or causing any inconvenience. Although the gimmicks are not provided with the effect (that is provided in a .pdf file) they are all easy to come across and won’t set you back any more than £5 max.

Now for the actual pdf itself. Chris has combined step by step instructions with plenty of tips and hints on how to enhance your performance of Evacuation. The four page guide is clearly written and is set out in such a way that you can read it once and begin practicing the trick, rather than having to refer back to it in stages.

Chris has took the decision to sell the effect and its working to only known candidates also, which for me makes the trick all the more worth buying. This is mainly because in a couple of months time I know you aren’t going to see every Tom, Dick and Harry posting tutorials on how the trick is done on you tube ect.

Overall

Overall I would give this effect an 8.5/10 and a Sir Digby stamp of approval!

Nice review! I'm still thinking about it. You can also get his 3 coin vanish for an extra 7 quid if you purchase Evacuation.

It looks so clean aswell! Ahh I might have to just buy it.
