Teller's vanishing and reappearing cigarette is inspirational!

If you have 90 minutes or so to spare, want to see magic done under water and don't mind them telling you most effects are done then take a look at https://youtu.be/4cRqMNvt1fM

Saw them live here in Seattle a few years ago, was a great show. They did the effect where Penn is in a barrel and Teller thrusts poles through the barrel. For a small price or buying a tee shirt, you got to go up on stage and look into the barrel and see Penn sitting there among the poles. Always love watching Teller perform.

Penn and Teller can be controversial. But on the whole, I think they've done a lot of good things to revive magic and help popularize it.

I'm not convinced by the whole premise of their "Fool Us" TV show, because as we all know, magic is first of all about entertaining, and just because a trick is a "magician fooler" doesn't necessarily make it good magic.

But it has to be admitted that they've helped keep magic in the public eye, and there's probably a whole generation of youngsters who are seeing this and getting excited about magic.

I have a lot of respect for them.

Their 'bad boys' image is probably just a good marketing move which keeps them in a different league to other magicians. Having seen their UK shows and, for a few minutes, met them afterwards they really are a couple of decent guys who love performing and meeting the audience. Teller said that the after show aspect was the real fun of touring for him. If nothing else, you can be sure that a P&T show will be different from any other magic show and there aren't many magi who can truthfully claim that.

In recent years we've lost a lot of the big names of magic so, as I've said several times before, if you get the chance to see such performers live then don't hesitate, even if you have to sell your granny to raise the cash to buy tickets, do so and go see them! :D

Well said Mandrake. Seeing big names in magic perform live is something one can long remember and cherish, especially in years after they have gone.
