Ok I am going to take most of my comments back, after another foray in to the book and treating it like jazz (all though I have a distaste for jazz) I can see what this book is.

I have all ready had a few ideas that I've pitched to Tomo and he has seemed to like so far. It wasnt has bad as I first thought.

Think of the infomation in the book as a load of sleights (wich they kind of are.) how you use them thats up to you.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Okay, I now I challenge you to listen to Miles Davis Kind of Blue and then tell me you still hate jazz...glad you had a rethink of the book, it really is clever and useful.

I'm glad that you've given the book another chance, Mark. As I said you you the other night, the information in the book is brilliant, you just have to have a little think about how to apply it.

Now that is a great album! It's one of the only pieces of music that I can listen to no matter what the mood. If I'm happy, angry, sad, good day at work, bad day at work, this can be put on. Its very few albums that this can be done with. Love it to bits.

It is my litmus test for those who say they hate jazz...I often put it on for guests in my house and they say, 'Oooh, I like this...what is it?' Pure genious...recorded in a day and the most popular jazz recording ever...Glad I now know another fan!

I generally hate Jazz but love that record. Birth Of the cool is great too but Bitches Brew flew over my head at physics defying speeds

Not got naked mentalism so cannot comment but it sure looks good (I added this bit so it didn't look like I was hijacking the thread)

Argghh - this thread just keeps popping up to tempt me, doesn't it?

I'll admit that my PayPal finger's twitching...even though I always hold off buying anything which smells like, "the latest/greatest", or until there's a sufficient amount of balanced reviews for me to read through.

Trouble is, whilst I love the concept of book tests, I now have Master Roth's Homicide trilogy, and couldn't really see myself going back to using a standard book, with no back-story (other than, 'grab a book, choose a word...and your word is X') - just doesn't yank my chain for some reason

That said, for those of you who have NM, does the other material (aside from the NBT) still warrant £30 of my hard-earned, bearing in mind I already have Banana-Cheek's Psychological Subtleties?

Hope you guys can convince me :D

Nononononononoooooo - I'm not that easy any more bud; I really love the sound of the book, but it'll take a little more convincing from actual owners, before I stump-up for it (assuming I actually do feel I can get my money's-worth from the tome!).

Nice try, though

I looked over at a couple of my other favourite review-type areas (the fluffy-tailed one didn't have any reviews at all, and the greeny neon place DID have reviews, but they really were a very mixed bag...and certainly not enough to convince me either way :( )

Ooof! Nowt to do with me. I'm just the dealer

It's simple really: when you're ready to start enjoying the feeling of people believing you're really psychic (with all that might entail), just press the button.

Can we move any discussion of (non-magical) jazz to the Dove's Head.
