The Giving Thread

Postby Lawrence » Jul 16th, '07, 10:00

A thread for giving away those little props you have that you don't use anymore, the ones there's no point in selling (usually the ones that cost about £3 to begin with). Rather than throw that pen-through-bill pen away have a thought for the other magicians who might actually want it; like they say, one man's trash...
So befor you throw out a magical prop post it on here and see if anyone wants it.
[the usual trading post rules apply to the items of course]
New ruling: Whoever claims a current item on offer must post his own item for someone else to claim and so on.
This does not mean, however, that there can only be one item up for grabs at any one time, if anyone feel like throwing an item in (and being a nice guy) feel free.

 And to kick it off, an Oracle Deck to whoever wants one. (ONE!) Gone (via msn)

And i'll put up a Blue (not so bright anymore but still working) D'Lite, if i can locate the thing.

edit: first item gone, it has begun. come along, give away your trash!

You guys are quick off the mark....I will dig it out tonight and post it soon Kems.

I will have a butchers at what else is hidden away in my dark drawers.

Good idea this Lawrence. Why sell little bits and pieces when we can do a small deed for a fellow magi

Guys - excellent idea, which I highly-applaud :D

However, to keep the momentum of the thread going, which it's going to need, I have one small suggestion...

Could I put forward the idea that the folks who 'win' the item on offer must also place an item of their own onto the thread?

That way, we achieve a giving thread with a kind of 'inbuilt perpetual motion', and it prevents any potential misuse?

As I say, just a suggestion; this is Lawrence's thread, so I'll throw the idea across to him for consideration

I like this idea. let's go with it. so now Mr Kems has to put up an item...
Go, Davey, Go!

edit: potential new ruling: only letting members with a certain amount of posts or time registered play the game. basically to stop first time posters coming in and claiming things and then probably never coming back to make good on their offer.
or would this seem too elitist? any ideas?

He has been trying to get shot of this for about 4 months now.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Great idea for a thread.

Although I haven't "won" anything I have a pair of red D'Lites if anyone wants them (at least I think that's what their called TT with lights). I bought them from Hamley's many moons ago. I've not used them, but I have just tested them and they still work.

Let me know if you want them....

Correction I WAS trying to get rid of this for 4 months and it goes to show that if you try long and hard enough you can unload stuff to any schmuck that comes along
