More like "Splendid... you spent money on the worst trick ever"
A buddy of mine, probably my biggest magic-fan, owed me 5 dollars, he said he'd give me 10 dollars if he bought a magic trick with it for me and i told him how it was done.
He picked Splendid, by Alvo Stockman.. I bet he feels dumb
The Effect
A sugar packet falls through a EMPTY coffee cup (not a full cup, like PenguinMagic suggests)
Cost
6.95 at penguin
Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)
0, because it's so easy to do that laypeople know within seconds.
Review
This might be the worst trick anyone ever tried to sell. It's just boring, unorigianal, and incredibly predictable. The circumstances have to be perfect. If you tell starbucks your order is for here, they give you a real cup, not two plastic cups. If you get it to go, the next place you (Usually) walk to is your car, and the people at starbucks need to double-cup your drink, and not put the heat-guard around it.... and thats before the trick even starts!
The trick itself is so simple, Im surpirsed they needed a video to explain it. it can be explained in just one sentence. In one word.
If you want to learn this trick, just watch the demo video you can figure it out.
All tricks by Alvo on PenguinMagic are boring, totally awful. "Casual broken and restored fork".. when are forks ever broken?
Take the trick "Mix Tape" for example. 50 dollars.. for a trick that you have to arrange with a friend to perform, and he'll probably forget anyway and just think your weird because you're giving him a CD instead of just sending him songs? what a bad idea.
Pros: Alvo wears a nice hoodie in the video.
Overall
Most of the video is him talking about how cool he thinks doing magic is then repeating his trick over and over.
-1/10
Dont even bother at all
